Author's POV:
"Becky... seriously, have some shame. You went to bed at 9 p.m. and now it's 6 a.m.! Get up and get dressed—it's our first day at the new college!" Irin's voice cut through the air like a bolt of lightning.
Becky didn't budge. She was dead to the world, peacefully cocooned in her blanket, as if she wasn't about to embark on the most important day of her life.
"Wait... Becky's still asleep?" Char's voice rang with disbelief. "No way," she muttered, looking at Becky like she'd just found a unicorn in the room. "Wake. Up!" Char shouted, her words practically echoing off the walls.
Becky, startled, jerked upright in bed—flailing like a fish out of water—almost falling to the floor in the process.
Irin, who had already checked the clock and seen the 10-minute countdown ticking down, sighed dramatically. "I don't even know what to do with you, girl," she muttered under her breath. "I'm going ahead, waiting in the car. You lazy ass has 10 minutes to get dressed, or I swear we're leaving you behind!" Without another word, Irin dashed out of the room, tossing a piece of bread into her mouth as if she was on a mission.
The house was about an hour away from the college, and Becky knew that time was slipping through her fingers faster than she could get her act together. With a loud sigh, she dragged herself to the bathroom, half-committed to getting ready. The clock was ticking.
Within minutes, Becky was dressed in a white top and jeans, her hair tied up in a messy bun. She grabbed her beloved milk tea, knowing she couldn't survive the day without it, and dashed out the door. Irin and Char were already in the car, finishing their breakfast with the radio playing softly in the background.
Becky slid into the back seat, feeling the weight of the day ahead. Char looked over, raising an eyebrow. "Becky and her love for milk tea," she teased with a grin, clearly amused.
Becky rolled her eyes, sulking. "Shut up, you two," she muttered. "I thought for sure you'd betray me and leave me behind."
Irin shot her a smirk, eyes on the road. "Oh, come on, Bec. You know what? Our trash is our responsibility." Char, unable to hold back, burst out laughing at Irin's casual delivery.
Becky huffed but couldn't help the smile tugging at her lips. "You guys are the worst," she grumbled. "I'd be lost without you."
The drive to the college passed in a blur. They could already see the campus in the distance—massive, sleek, and intimidating. The anticipation bubbled up inside them as they neared their destination. It wasn't just a college; it was the college. The one everyone talked about. The best in Thailand.
As they pulled into the parking lot, Becky couldn't stop her eyes from scanning the area. "Oh, my God," she whispered, voice filled with awe. "Look at this place!"
The towering buildings. The pristine walkways. And the students? Stunning. Everyone looked like they belonged in a magazine spread, effortlessly exuding confidence and style.
"Looks like you two might have to change your crushes," Char teased, nudging Irin and Becky. "Freen and Noey don't stand a chance against these guys."
Becky rolled her eyes. "You haven't seen Freen yet."
Irin raised an eyebrow. "Just wait until you see Noey," she said, leaning forward in her seat, eyes already scanning the crowd.
The three girls got out of the car and made their way toward the auditorium. The air was thick with excitement as they approached the entrance. A loudspeaker crackled to life, making everyone pause.
