Freen's POV
I opened my eyes to find Becky staring at me.
There was something in her gaze—soft, intense, maybe even familiar. It was like her eyes were speaking a language I used to know... but had somehow forgotten.
Have I known her before?
No. Stop it, Freen. Not again. Why does this thought keep haunting me?
But still... her smile, her voice, the way her brows furrowed in worry—it all felt like a distant memory. As if I'd been searching for someone without knowing it was her I was waiting for.
What is this feeling?
I don't understand it. But one thing I know for sure—
I want to know her.
I want to understand who she is, layer by layer.
I want to be close. Even if it starts with friendship.
"Hey, Bec... why are you looking at me like that?" I asked gently, trying to mask the storm inside me.
She flinched, eyes wide like she'd been caught stealing glances. "N-No, I-I was j-just..."
She looked so adorably flustered. It made me want to reach out and pinch her cheeks—but I held back.
"Yes? Just what?" I teased, lifting an eyebrow.
"Nothing! I'm going," she said quickly, already turning.
But I didn't want her to leave. Not yet. Not when the silence between us felt this warm.
"Hey, wait..." I reached out, stopping her softly. "Are you sleepy?"
She paused, surprised by the question, then shook her head. "No."
"Wanna join me? I just... feel like getting some fresh air."
I tried to sound casual, but my heart was racing. A strange part of me already knew she'd say yes.
Her lips curled into a soft smile. "Yes. Sure. Let's go."
The way her eyes lit up made something stir inside me—comfort, happiness... maybe something deeper. But... Why?
We stepped out onto the balcony of her room. Everyone else was asleep in the living room, so it was quiet. Peaceful.
"It's so peaceful here," I whispered, looking up at the sky. "The moon is beautiful tonight."
"But still not as much as you," she said, without missing a beat.
My head turned instantly. That... caught me off guard.
"What?" I asked, brows furrowed in confusion.
She immediately looked away, cheeks flaming. "I-I mean... as a junior. I was just... just complimenting you."
I couldn't help but laugh softly at her stumbling words.
"Hmmm," I said, leaning against the railing. "So, how many seniors have you complimented before me?"
She looked down, hiding her face behind her hair. "Well... you're the first."
Something inside me shifted. My heart skipped a beat.
"Really?" I leaned in a little. "And what made me your first-ever senior to get a compliment?"
She chuckled, her eyes briefly meeting mine, almost like she was remembering something. "Well... it's complicated."
I frowned slightly. "Huh?"
She burst into a laugh. "I guess I'm the 'Huh' specialist."
I shook my head with a grin. "As if you brought that title with you."
She nodded and leaned beside me. "Everything looks new after the rain, doesn't it?"
Her words hung in the air—light, simple, yet strangely poetic.
I looked at her again, the moonlight framing her face. And in that moment, I knew this girl was going to change something in me.
Becky's POV:
I swear, I deserve an award for spilling tea at the worst possible moments.
Did I really just say she's more beautiful than the moon? Ugh, Becky!
But... it is complicated.
Even I still don't fully understand how I ended up falling for someone I used to call Phi. It's embarrassing, confusing, and kind of unfair—to both of us.
But who could possibly blame me?
Anyone who gets close to Freen... would fall.
The real question is—who does she love?
I glanced at her, trying to find answers in her peaceful expression.
"P'Freen," I said, clearing my throat. "Can I ask you something personal?"
She chuckled, brushing her hair behind her ear. "I don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend—if that's what you're wondering."
I froze. What the—was she reading my mind?
She looked at me with a small smirk. "No, I'm not reading your mind. You're just... too obvious. And 'personal question' almost always means that."
I let out a huff and looked away, embarrassed. "So silly of me."
We both stared at the moon in silence for a second before I dared to ask, "Won't you ask me?"
She shook her head with a soft laugh. "You don't have anyone."
My jaw dropped. "Am I really that obvious?"
She hummed in agreement.
I laughed weakly, but then a memory flashed. That ring... didn't she give P'Nam a ring before? Should I ask?
Would that be too nosy?
Before I could gather my courage, she yawned.
"P'Freen? You should sleep now."
She nodded, stretching slightly. "Yeah... it's already 4 a.m. I have to visit my parents tomorrow."
I blinked. "You don't live with them?"
She shook her head as we headed back inside. "No. Our family mansion's pretty far from the university. I stay in a condo nearby."
I nodded. Made sense. She sat down on the bed and I grinned mischievously.
"So... do you bring girls to your condo often?" I teased, raising an eyebrow.
She smirked, unfazed. I prepared myself for a punch-worthy answer. If she would say yes, then none can stop me from punching her.
"Quite curious about your senior, huh? That's harmful to your health," she said with a smirk. "Go now. I'm not offering you to sleep here with me. Shoo."
I narrowed my eyes at her sass. Crossing my arms, I stuck out my tongue. "Yeah, be alone then."
Storming out, I grumbled all the way to Char's room.
"Rude. Arrogant. Good for nothing. And a confused woman!" I muttered as I slammed the door shut and threw myself onto the bed.
I buried my face into the pillow and screamed into it.
Hope no one heard me.
Freen's POV:
The door closed with a soft click, and I stared after her for a few seconds before breaking into quiet laughter.
"Narak," I whispered to myself.
Laying down, I stared at the ceiling, my thoughts refusing to calm.
"Okay, let's be honest, Freen..." I whispered into the silence. "She's cute. Just a bit odd."
A smile tugged at my lips as I finally let sleep take over—heart a little lighter, soul a little fuller.
