4.Surprise?!

 Engfa's POV:

I introduced all five new members, but I still can't forget that Irin hit me with her bike.
"How can this girl act so normal after sending me to the hospital?" I muttered to myself.

I don't know why, but I felt like I'd seen Becky before. Her face... it looked so familiar. It's impossible, though. She can't be that person. And if she is that girl—I swear, I won't let her step into Freen's life again. I don't care what anyone says—I'll blame her. She's the reason Freen has changed.

I saw Becky talking to Freen. When they finished, I walked toward them—Nita was there too, and Freen hugged her. I needed to congratulate my nong, Nita, as well. I stood behind Char, and after Nita and Seng—

Char suddenly said,
"Hey P'Freen, long time no see?"

I was startled. Freen asked her what she meant. And her reply shocked me.

"Don't act like you don't know me."

I didn't even hesitate and called her name.
"Char."

She looked at me, and I started,
"Hope you're all done. So let me tell you the real reason for this party—"

But Nita cut me off.
"We're here to celebrate Phi Nam's birthday—even if it's two months late, right?"

"Yes, my Nita, and we'll make sure we celebrate yours on time. Happy now?"
Freen smiled and looked at her.

Nita is afraid of grumpy Freen. Freen once promised Nita that she'd always smile while talking to her. She's our sweet little nong. How could we ever say no to her?

"I'll kill you all if you don't hide and turn off the lights right now!" Heng announced. "Make sure everything is set—it's already 3:45 PM. She messaged me that she'll be here within five minutes."

"Kids, just go stand in that corner! Becky, what are you doing there? I need you over here!" I pointed everyone to their places. Me, Freen, Noey, Heng, Kate, and Nita stood near the door with everything we needed... to give her a little heart attack. Hehehe... 😈

Nam's POV:

I parked my car and messaged P'Heng that I'd be there in five minutes.

I entered the room and—
"SURPRISE!!" Everyone shouted. That almost gave me a heart attack. Thank god my heart's strong!

"W-What's all this?" I asked. Freen walked over, holding a cake.

"Your birthday party. We might forget a lot of things—but your birthday? Never."

"Now blow the candles," Kate said.

"No, monster! Let her make a wish first!" Noey scolded.

I smiled and made a wish in my heart:
"I wish to be with these friends until the end. I wish for a happy life with Krik. And I wish for my sister—Freen—to find her happiness soon."

Then I blew out the candles.

I cut the cake and gave it to P'Fa, Freen, Noey, and Kate. I was shocked to see Nita there.
"Nita!" I hugged her. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh! Phi, I'm the class rep for Business Department—first year."

"Aww, now Freen's happy pill is always gonna be with her, huh?"

"Yes, P'Nam," she giggled.

We gave the cake to everyone. I saw Char and that girl standing together. I was about to head over when P'Fa began to speak.
