Penny had decided to have a Halloween party at the Hard Deck for all the Servicemen and women on base. But there was one rule.
Costumes were mandatory.
Reyna had decided to spend the weekend in town with Jake, as Mari was having a party at their home in the Valley.
(She was well aware of what she was going home to, so she was determined to get drunk while here.)
Reyna had somehow convinced Jake to go as Gomez and Morticia Addams. Not quite sure how she did that, as Jake glared at anybody who even remotely looked at his fiancé. Hey, Reyna was in a tight, figure hugging dress that showed off all her assets. Sue him for being overprotective.
Rooster, wanting to piss Hangman off, as per usual, dressed as a cowboy for the evening. He even managed to get a cheap hat that he was sure would turn the Texan's face bright red.
Coyote went, as well, a Coyote. He specifically made signs to signify he was Wile E Coyote, so Penny didn't kick him out.
Fanboy came as Falcon and Payback was dressed in a suit. When asked who he was, the man replied, "Bond. James Bond."
(And before anyone comes at me for making Fanboy come as Falcon, the actor, Danny Ramirez, has a character in the MCU, Joaquin Torres, who is slated to become the new Falcon as Sam Wilson has now taken over the Captain America mantle. This is comic accurate, I am not trying to erase Falcon as a black character or take away that representation.)
Phoenix, after talking with Reyna and Mari, decided to go the easy route and came in a karate gi. They were surprisingly comfortable and she was happy it was easy to do. (She totally didn't scrape this together at the last minute because she forgot. No way.)
But it was Bob and Malina that took the cake for their costumes. Jaws were dropped when the couple walked into the bar.
Because the Floyd Family had lived up to their reputation of being little nerds. Malina and Bob had pulled out all the stops from one of their favorite movies.
Princess "Kida" Kidagakash and Milo Thatch.
Malina looked incredible as Kida, really pulling the entire look off with intense poise and grace. Bob surprised everyone by bringing the sexy nerd to life with ease.
Reyna was the first to react. "Holy shit you guys! You look amazing!" Mal smiled at her before looking the woman up and down.
"Um hello, look at you! Killer curves right here, babe." That had Reyna and Mal doing their secret handshake.
Natasha comes strolling over next. "I've got to say, you pull this off well, Bob. I did not see this coming." She goes to mess with his hair before he ducks out of the way. "It took forever to get the hair to lay right, don't touch it!"
The women around him laughed as the men still had trouble processing what they were seeing.
Payback, a few drinks in, talks first for them all. "You clean up well, Bob. Though I guess we should have seen this coming, knowing your wife."
Mal sticks her tongue out at the man who just laughs at her response.
Reyna elbows Jake in the stomach to get him to straighten up. "Gotta say, Baby on Board is a baby no longer." Of course, he goes with his instigating nature but no one can stop that now.
"Like you can talk, Gomez," Malina points out. Reyna had told her of the plan, she just didn't realize it had worked.
But Mal was quick to grab Reyna. "We've got to send pictures to Mari. I didn't tell her what I was doing so it would be a complete surprise to everyone." Reyna nods before getting Natasha to take some photos for them.
"Get your asses in here, boys. We need the complete set." They call out to their respective partners.
A few group shots were taken of the couples before full group shots were taken with everyone.
Let me just say, Mari had not been expecting those costumes. So when she nearly dropped her phone, Hawk noticed. And when he nearly dropped his drink, others noticed too.
If the Miyagi-Fang teens hadn't already had those crushes on the naval aviators, they certainly did now.
And, well, who could blame them? That group was attractive and they all knew it.
It just so happened to come out most on Halloween.

This idea was literally what spawned the entire story in the first place, I kid you not!
Alexandra Shipp is in fact a fancast for a Live Action Kida. I considered many of the fancasts and found she fit best for Malina's character.
Costume idea above. Obviously not these people exactly, but I couldn't find a cosplay couple that captured my idea as well as I would have liked.
I also had this idea of Malina going as Painted Lady Katara, but could not figure out a costume for Bob that would match well.
