Vow Renewal

It was the 5 year wedding anniversary for Bob and Malina Floyd.

Their wedding had been a small family affair, mostly with just Bob's family in attendance and Carter for Malina. Mal was estranged from her family and moved around so much for work, she didn't have many steady friends. And it didn't bother her, not really.

At least, not until they had made their family with Dagger Squad.

Malina had more friends now, more family now. And she wanted to celebrate her love with them. The more she thought about it, the more she felt robbed of that experience.

So she sat down with her husband and they decided to do a vow renewal for their 5th anniversary. (Typically these happen for milestones such as a 15th, 20th, or even a 25th.)

Still keeping it small, they had decided to do a beach wedding, more boho style. They were such a laid back couple and they were already married. No sense in spending thousands for another one.

Bob was lucky enough to have his brother as his best man, once again. But this time he asked Rooster and Hangman to be groomsmen as well. They had all come a long way from their first meeting. These two had truly helped Bob break out from his shell without Malina present.

Of course, Natasha was the true hero in that story, but Malina had won her in the custody battle.

Malina had tearfully asked Natasha, Reyna, and Mari if they would be her bridesmaids. To which they all, of course, said yes.

Carter, however, had the most special job. He was their officiant. And since this was a renewal, not an actual wedding, he didn't need to be ordained, even by the internet. (Don't fact check me on this, just go with it!)

It was certainly a day to remember.

Mal's hair was in these beautiful braids, twisted into an elegant half up do that Reyna had perfected. Her dress, a simple yet flowy white gown that ended just below her knees.

The bridesmaids were in light blue dresses, all different styles to their individual likes and body types. The groomsmen had on matching vests, on full display since it was too hot for a full suit jacket.

Mari had enlisted the help of some of her friends, back in town from college, to get the beach ready. A series of Polaroid cameras had been purchased for the guests to take pictures of throughout the day. A little wall had also been places by the table for people to hang their favorites for the couple to have.

Malina didn't want a professional photographer for this event. She wanted everyone to have fun and make memories. And for her, this was the best way to do it.

Bob, for his part, was dressed very snapily in a suit to match his groomsmen, although he had a slightly different shade of blue, with a gray suit instead of black.

And even though Malina was already his wife, he was just as nervous today than on their actual wedding day 5 years prior.

Finally, it was showtime.

Now, since Mal's parents had long since passed and she walked the aisle alone the firs time, Bob's father had offered to walk her this time.

The Floyd Family had welcomed Malina with open arms and had loved her since the minute Bob had told them of her. He was honored to call Malina his daughter and wanted her to know that.

Carter stood at the front, tears in his own eyes, happy for his best friend. He watched as the bridesmaids walked down the aisle and as the dogs slowly trotted their way with flowers strapped to their backs. When Malina had made it to Bob, he began.
