How did our favorite couple come to be engaged you may ask. Well, I can tell you it was very sweet, very cute, and very much not according to plan.
You see, Bob had it all planned out. They were going to go to the coffee shop where they first met. Walk around the town a bit. Maybe grab some early dinner.
And when they got home, Bob would have her pick out a movie for then to watch while he went into the other room, under the guise of needing some extra blankets.
He was really getting the dogs ready, as he was going to use them as messengers for his proposal.
Unfortunately, that is not how it went.
Yes, they made it to the coffee shop. Yes, they walked around town. And yes, they did in fact grab an early dinner.
It was at home that things went wrong.

Walking through the front door, Malina laughs as Bob stumbles over his own foot. "We really should get you some sort of balancing lessons. You are always falling over."
Bob rolls his eyes. "Ha ha. Yes I know, clumsy as the day is long," he teases her. Wrapping her in a quick hug around the waist, Bob plants a kiss on her cheek. "Now go pick out a movie. I'll go grab some more blankets."
Mal jokingly salutes him before going to the couch and rummaging through their DVD collection.
Yes, you read that correctly. A DVD collection. They like having physical copies of their favorites. None of this streaming crap. No, no. Not when they can just take it away and suddenly, no more favorite movie! (You can tell I'm salty about this.)
Bob makes it to the bedroom where he quickly gets the ring from his hiding place. Calling out to Risky, he manages to get the message on the collar. But as he goes to call Nala, Risky takes off.
"No, no Risky get back here!" Bob is basically whisper shouting but can't get to the dog in time. And instead of Nala waiting for him, she sees Risky going nuts and decides to join in.
Malina hears all the noise before making her way back. "What's all this racket back here?" Before she is basically tackled by the dogs. She simply laughs as the dogs start locking her face.
They may not be able to understand exactly what is happening, but they know something big is about to happen. And change is coming, but a good change.
Suddenly, Mal notices something on Risky's collar. Bob doesn't have a chance to stop her before she opens the paper.
'We've been through a lot these past few years. And I can honestly say I don't know how I lived my life before we met. You have changed my world for the better. And I love you so much for it.'
She looks up to Bob. "I love you too. But what is this?"
He looks a little more nervous than she had previously realized. And then he hands her a second note, the one that was supposed to be on Nala's collar.
'We make a pretty good pair, if I do say so myself. And I don't want anything to change that. So here goes.'
Mal stares at the paper. "Here goes what? Did you stop before you fin...." She trails off as she turns to Bob.
There he was, on one knee, with a ring box in hand. "Malina Neilson, I have loved you from the moment I accidently threw my drumstick at you. And for some reason you gave me a chance."
He took a deep breath. "So will you give me another chance and make me the happiest man alive? Malina Neilson, will you marry me?"
Mal lets out a sob before crashing to the floor next to him. "Yes, yes, a million times yes!" Before pulling him in for a long kiss.
They pull apart when their smiling gets in the way. Mal holds out her hand and Bob delicately places the ring on her finger.
It was official.
Bob Floyd and Malina Neilson were engaged!

I thought this was super cute and very them. Of course things can't go right but that's what we love about them.
The dogs just making Bob improvise and go with the flow is the most perfect way to begin their next chapter!
