"𝓘 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓬𝓲𝓽𝔂" exclaimed twelve year old Elizabeth Andersen, as she made her entrance into the kitchen of the two bedroom apartment she and her mother had just shifted into after moving across the country & back to her mum's home city.

Her mother, Detective Vienna Andersen let out a chuckle at her daughter's sunny disposition in the morning. It wasn't that she wasn't thankful for having such a happy child; it was just funny to her that Elizabeth was so unlike her own self and also her father's.

"Good morning to you too sweetheart" Vienna said as she looked up from deformed pancakes on the stove. The fact that in all these years and she still hadn't perfected something as simple as pancakes even though she was a pretty good cook had always amused her preteen. Lizzie let out a giggle at her mother's handiwork saying "You burnt them again mom." as she moved towards the counter to give her a morning hug and kiss. It was their thing, something they did without fail everyday.

Vi was glad to see Lizzie dressed up and ready for her first day, she didn't want her daughter's life to be hampered even more than it already had been. It wasn't a planned move back to LA from New York, but unfortunately the passing of Vienna's mother had forced them to do so. Her mother might not have been much of a mom to her growing up but they had taken leaps towards having somewhat of a normal mother-daughter bond now. Vienna credited the birth of her daughter for that.

" Ready for the day?" Vi enquired as she moved towards the cabinet to take out some fruit loops for breakfast. She could see Lizzie's excitement and anticipation for her new school, unlike her mother who'd always had first day jitters aas was the case again even today.

" Yes, I'm all set, I packed up my stationary and my books, I'll leave them in the locker today. Wait I do get a locker here right? Or is it going to be like back home when I had to share with Neave Adkins?, Lizzie said her happy face changing into one of utter horror at the predicament making Vienna throw her head back with laughter; Lizzie and her classmate Neave had never gotten along and the idea making them share a locker to help bond had spectacularly backfired on their teacher. It did however make for some fun stories to reminisce though.

"Don't worry Liz, remember how when we met Miss. Trace, she showed us the school and the lockers you'll get? For yourself?" explained Vi. "Now come on, finish your breakfast, I'll drop you on my way to work"

"I can walk if you are in a hurry" offered Lizzie, tugging at her mother's heartstrings. Having been just the two of them, Vi had always tried to shield her daughter from the struggles she'd have. She didn't want Lizzie to worry but it had started becoming apparent to her in the past few months that her daughter might not be as unaware as she had thought.
