apologies for the constant shift in narrative, im still super new to this and i hope its understandable thank you again my besties
After being promoted from my basic exorcist angel position, up to Sir Adam's lieutinent, I finally feel like I am being seen. Adam can be a little obnoxious, like a lot of the time, but we really get along well. Last week we went out to play pool and get some drinks and as per usual Mr. Cant keep it in his pants, kept hitting on this one angel. She wasnt even interested in him and he was so pissed about it the whole walk back to our apartments. His ego is honestly through the roof but why do I find it kinda hot🫣 omg what am I even saying? I know he is my boss and I have no choice to keep professional, and be everything he needs me to. I mean honestly you cant beat this gig, the amount of heaven bucks we get was enough to move out of my shack with roomates and finally stay closer to headquarters.... and also just happens to be a 7 minute walk to Adams apartment. But its a good thing especially when hes drunk and wants to rant about Lilith again.
"Lute?? Hello heaven to Lute? Are you even listening??" said Adam.
L- Oh yes, my apologies Sir. I was just thinking about the training plan for my group today."
A-"Well did you even hear what Sera said?"
L- "Sorry I didnt catch it. What was she saying?"
A- "Training is canceled today bc Emily wants to host some dancing thing in the rooms we where we train"
L-"Oh okay cool.. sooo free offday?" she said kind of disappointed that she would have to go home instead of be by Adams side all day.
A-"HELL YEA FREE OFF DAY!! what do you wanna do? we could go shopping, go to the bar, go golfing- blah blah blah
Lute in her head "Wait he wants to spend his whole off day with me? I mean its 11am I was expecting him to go back to sleep"
A-" or we could go to the park or go bowling, whatcha think bae"
L in head- " bae?!?!? why would he say that? i know hes super casual with what he says but bae?"
L-"Oh yea that sounds great! do you wanna go later or now?"
A-"How bout I swing by your house at 6 and we go to the bar?"
L-" That sounds great! ill be ready at 5:45.
A-" You're so punctual jeez, no wonder youre my best girl"
Lute feels her cheeks heating up when he says that, but most of the time when he says stuff like this, she has her mask on and she doesnt have to worry about it showing.
A-"Awwwe is my best girl blushing?"
L-"No sir! I was just- I was- I mean-
A-" Oh its okay cutie everyone falls for me, I really dont mind."
L-"Sir youre imagining things."
A-"Hmmm. Doubt it."
As lute rolls her eyes she makes the corner to her apartment as Adam continues walking.
When she gets in her apartment her thought start driving her crazy, she doesnt know what to think about how hes acting.
L-" I mean he's right i know everyone falls for him and i guess hes okay with that? but i also dont want to let him know hes right, but his charm makes me want to give in, but i need to stay professional, i just UGH! ill just tidy up aroynd the house until its time to get ready to go, thatll surely take my mind off things."
She continued thinking about him for the entire day until 5:30 while she was
putting on her mascara in her bedroom when she heard a knock at the door. She was just getting finished when she opened the door for Adam.
This was the first time she had seen him in without his mask.. like ever... obviously she knew what he looked like from posters and the news and stuff but had never seen him like this in real life. That's when the full crush set in
