In a neighbourhood, we're having a little gathering on the street...
A woman stood on her fence, looking over at the speakers that were blasting music.
She then saw two kids spraying each other with water guns.
"Get off my property, you guys." She says.
One of the kids turned, spraying her, and she almost fell.
"That's it! That's it!"
May: "911. What's your emergency?"
Woman: "Armed hooligans are running down the street. They just shot at me!"
May: "Is anyone injured?"
Woman: "No, not yet."
May: "Can you describe the suspects?"
Woman: "I don't know. Boys. Maybe six or seven years old."
May: "And they have guns?"
Woman: "Yes! They have those giant water cannon things. They almost took my eye out!"
May: "I'm sorry, but are you reporting an actual emergency?"
Woman: "Of course it's an emergency! It's almost something with these people! If it's not water guns, it's water balloons, roller skates, tricycles, and too many damn barbecues! Just one big damn unlawful assembly."
Josh was sitting beside May, listening to the call and shaking his head slightly.
May: "If you'd like to make a noise complaint, you should call..."
Woman: "I'm calling you. And now I'd like to speak to your supervisor."
Josh huffed, going to stand up, and May held up her hand.
May: "Ma'am, it's a misdemeanour under California penal code, Section 148.3, for a person to use the 9-1-1 system for a purpose other than reporting an actual emergency."
May stared at Josh, and Josh smiled, sitting back.
Woman: "Are you kidding me? I'm the criminal now. Okay, fine, if you people aren't gonna handle it, I will take care of it myself."
May: "Ma'am..."
Woman: "Hey! How'd you get in here? Get outta here!"
"May..." Josh said.
May: "No, dispatching units now. Possible assault in progress."
They heard the woman grunting, then a gunshot and a splash of water.
