❦As Kane, Trent, Saka, and Dec hit the road to Sunderland to check on Jobe, things get a bit rowdy in the car. Dec and Trent start arguing over who gets to control the music, with Kane stepping in to tell them to chill out and focus on driving. Meanwhile, Saka just kicks back in the backseat, tuning out the chaos with his AirPods.
Time skip:
The car finally pulls up outside Jobe's house, and they're greeted by his dad, Mark. He's got this serious look on his face that tells them something's up. Mark leads them inside, and they all pile into the living room.
"Alright lads, let me fill you in," Mark says, his voice heavy with concern. He explains how Jobe's been struggling since Imani left, and it's been hitting him hard. They nod, trying to take it all in.
After Mark's talk, they head upstairs to Jobe's room. He's sitting on his bed, looking like he hasn't slept in days. As soon as he sees them, he breaks down, tears streaming down his face.
"It's just... I can't handle it anymore," Jobe chokes out between sobs.
They gather around him, offering whatever comfort they can. Jobe spills his heart out, telling them how much he misses Imani and how lost he feels without her. It's tough seeing him like this, but they listen, letting him get it all out.
Eventually, Jobe starts to calm down, his sobs turning into sniffles. They promised him that they're there for him, no matter what.
" I just don't know if I can keep going," Jobe admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Football used to be everything to me, but now... it feels like it's suffocating me."
"It's like I've lost my spark, you know?" Jobe's voice was barely a whisper, his gaze fixed on the floor as he spoke. "I used to live for football, but now... it feels like I'm just going through the motions."Kane exchanged a worried glance with the others, his heart heavy with empathy for his friend. Trent reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Jobe's shoulder.
"We're here for you, mate," Trent said softly, his voice laced with sincerity. "Whatever you're going through, we'll get through it together."
Just as they began to delve deeper into Jobe's struggles, Trent's phone buzzed with an incoming call. With a wordless nod, Trent excused himself and stepped outside into the garden,
Jude's call to Trent was urgent but hopeful.
He suggested taking Jobe to the match in Germany, thinking it might cheer him up. Jude hinted that seeing Imani could make Jobe feel better.
But they didn't realize their plan could make things worse. Unresolved feelings and past memories could bring more trouble than comfort, turning their well-meaning idea into a bigger problem for Jobe.
