My heart pounded as I stared my phone. I had lost count of how many messages I had sent to Imani, hoping for a response. Each unanswered text made my worry grow, gnawing at me relentlessly. It wasn't like Imani to disappear like this. The last time we spoke, it ended abruptly, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
I checked my phone again, scrolling through the string of messages that remained unread. My chest tightened when I realized she had blocked me. Desperation clawed at me—I couldn't leave things like this. She meant too much to me.
Sleep had become a distant memory, and I hadn't had a proper meal in days. The anxiety was a constant weight on my shoulders, sapping my strength. I needed to know she was okay. Swallowing my pride, I decided to message Jadon.

Hey man, have you heard from Imani? I'm really worried about her.
Jadon 💩 Hey Jobe, yeah, she's okay now. It's been rough, but she's safe. Gio was really bad news.
What happened?
Jadon explained everything—how he had stepped in to save Imani from Gio's abusive behavior. As I read Jadon's words, a mixture of relief and guilt washed over me. I should have been there for her. I didn't want things to end like this.
Jadon's POV: I could feel the weight of Jobe's worry through the screen. It was clear as day that Jobe still cared deeply for Imani. I sighed, thinking about the mess Gio had caused. But now that Imani was safe, there was another matter at hand.
Jobe and Imani had something special before things went south. Maybe it wasn't too late to fix things. An idea began to form in my mind.
Alright lads, got a bit of a situation here. Jobe and Imani. We need to get them back together. Who's in?"
