As Faker entered the room, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight before him. Gumayusi, usually the impulsive and playful younger brother, sat intently focused on his work, with Oner cradled in his arms, resting peacefully.
"What on earth is this?" Faker murmured, his voice dripping with disapproval.
Gumayusi quickly glanced up, motioning with his hand for Faker to lower his voice. "Keep it down. I don't want him waking up."
Faker's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "This is not appropriate, Gumayusi. He's your secretary, not some toy you can play with."
"He's sick," Gumayusi retorted defensively.
"And? That gives you the right to turn him into a lap pillow? Why didn't you send him home?"
Gumayusi hesitated, struggling to find the right words. He genuinely believed that letting Oner rest was the right decision. Yet, under Faker's intense scrutiny, doubt began to creep in.
Faker sighed, his expression softening ever so slightly as he looked at the slumbering Oner. "You need to think about what he truly is to you. Your actions have consequences, especially considering your position. Don't toy with his feelings or his health."
Gumayusi opened his mouth to reply, but Oner shifted in his sleep, his fingers clutching at Gumayusi's shirt as he mumbled incoherently. The room went silent, the moment feeling fragile and intimate.
Seeing the tender moment, Faker's voice softened further. "Remember your responsibilities and position. And most importantly, don't hurt him." With a final, piercing glance at his younger brother, Faker made his exit.
Gumayusi was left in turmoil. He stared down at Oner, taking in his peaceful face and the soft breaths that escaped his lips. His heart ached in a way it hadn't before. Was he truly just toying with Oner, or did he feel something deeper? He recalled the moments of laughter, the banter, and the warmth he felt with Oner by his side. The realization slowly dawned upon him. He didn't just see Oner as an employee; he had come to care deeply for him.
A myriad of emotions swirled within Gumayusi - confusion, guilt, and a budding understanding of the feelings he held for Oner. As the weight of responsibility and realization pressed down on him, he tightened his grip around Oner, silently promising to protect and cherish the precious person in his arms.
