Gumayusi felt a sense of accomplishment as they left the restaurant. He had successfully executed his impromptu "date" plan, getting Oner to relax and let his guard down. The smile on Oner's face and the spark in his eyes were clear indicators of his contentment.
Walking side by side, Oner's eyes lit up suddenly when they passed by a cinema. He paused, noticing a colorful poster for an animated movie.
"Aww, look! They're showing 'Heartstrings of Fantasia'! I've wanted to watch that!" Oner exclaimed.
Gumayusi smirked, teasing him, "You, a grown man, excited for a cartoon?"
Oner stuck his tongue out, "It's an animated film. And yes, I love them! Besides, I've heard this one's brilliant."
Before Gumayusi could react, Oner grabbed his hand, leading him to the ticket counter. Within minutes, Oner had purchased two tickets, and was debating the merits of sweet vs. salty popcorn.
Gumayusi, still coming to terms with the sudden detour in their day, questioned, "Really, Oner? This better be worth it."
Oner, already snacking on a handful of popcorn, began passionately explaining the plot. "It's not just for kids, okay? It's about this magical realm that's on the brink of ruin. The heroes have to rediscover the lost music to bring it back to life. There's adventure, emotion, and above all, it's about finding harmony in chaos. There's a deep message in it."
Gumayusi raised an eyebrow, "Sounds philosophical for a kids' movie."
"Stop calling it that!" Oner feigned annoyance but was clearly excited to share this experience.
As the lights dimmed and the movie began, Gumayusi expected to find himself bored. However, watching Oner's face light up with genuine joy and excitement during the film was mesmerizing. The way Oner's eyes sparkled during certain scenes, or how he laughed at the humorous moments, it was enchanting.
At some point, without either of them really noticing, Oner began feeding Gumayusi popcorn. Their fingers brushed against each other, and soon, their hands were intertwined, with Oner's head resting on Gumayusi's shoulder.
The world outside seemed to disappear. The cinema, with its soft glow and surround sound, became their universe. By the time the credits rolled, the two were completely lost in their shared moment.
Gumayusi turned his head slightly to look at Oner, whispering, "You were right. That was... surprisingly profound."
Oner looked up, their faces inches apart. "Told you. Not just a kids' movie."
Their gazes locked, and the atmosphere grew thick with tension. Gumayusi, his voice husky, said, "You know, Oner... This turned out to be a nice date."
Oner's eyes widened at the word 'date', surprise and realization flooding them. Before he could process the weight of Gumayusi's words, the distance between them closed, their lips meeting in a tender and slow kiss. Emotions bubbled up, years of unsaid feelings finding expression in that simple yet profound gesture.
When they finally pulled apart, both out of breath, Oner whispered, "Thank you for the date."
Gumayusi smiled, pulling Oner closer. "Anytime."
