I opened my eyes to the sun right in my eyes. That sure didn't help with the horrid headache I was now suffering. I yawned and stretched as I sat up, from wherever I was lying. I looked around and realised I was in some bed. It was mine for sure, and the room was blank and dull. The walls were gray, with nothing decorating them, same with the roof which had a loud fan attached to it. "Where am I?" I mumbled aloud.

"My mom's place," Vance answered, walking into the room with a glass of water and some pills. I stared at him for a second. He had bags under his eyes and just overall looked very tired. "Your drink was drugged so I took ya' here," he shrugged.

I nodded, and he handed me the glass of water. I took a big sip from it, feeling dehydrated as hell. "Thanks," I mumbled, sighing and taking a deep breath. He also handed me the pills, which turned out to painkillers. "So like...is your mom here or is it just us?" I asked awkwardly.

"Nah, she's out at work already," Vance shrugged his shoulders. He sat at the end of the bed and laid back. I could now tell he was really tired.

Suddenly my phone began to buzz, and of course I grabbed it. "Shit," I mumbled as I read the contact. Mom. Vance opened his eyes, watching as I quickly took the call and walked off. "Hey, mom," I nervously spoke into the phone.

She didn't waste any time to start yelling at me. At first she sounded angry, telling me how upset she was that I would sneak out. But then she turned to saying how worried she was and how she just wanted me at home. "Whose house are you at? I'll come pick you up." She offered. I didn't like the fact she had been looking at my location, which she always had access to.

"Nah, mom," I sighed, "I'll bike home soon." She groaned, complaining about me distancing myself from the family and how I was becoming a stereotypical teenage boy. I just told her bye and hung up.

I scrolled through the many 'where are you' texts from my parents from last night. Clearly my dad wasn't as worried, as most of his texts were followed with some angry emoji he liked to use a lot. I sighed, going to go tell Vance I had to go home.

"Who was that?" Vance asked, being a little nosy. I explained it was mom, who was mad at me for sneaking out, and that I needed to go home. He huffed, looking away for a second. "Do they know you're with me or..." he quietly mumbled as he trailed off into silence.

"Nah," I shook my head, grabbing my shoes which were conveniently placed by the end of the bed. "I mean..she knows my location, but I don't think she realises it's your mom's place."

Vance nodded his head, deeply sighing as he stood up. "Well, your bike is in my trunk still so I'll head out with you so I can open my trunk," he said, following behind me as I wandered through his mothers living space. He led me outside and popped his trunk open.

As I was grabbing my bike the sound of a car approaching the home alerted me. I payed no mind though, just hopping on my bike and saying bye to Vance. As I began to pedal way I turned back to see a car pulling up and a woman getting out. She said something to Vance that made his cheeks go pink, but I was too far at thin point to hear.
