YOU AND ME

My interest in you is like a moth drawn to a flame
It's dangerous and I stand with nothing to gain
But if for a second
I do lean to far
Would the depths of your eyes carry me into the stars
Or would I sink like a ship
Far down in the sea
Without you
Would there be a me?
My heart stands broken, battered, and bruised
But my soul sores the through the sky and admires the views
My love for you isn't like a fairytale
It's not something you'd see in a book
It's not something you'd even catch upon first look
It's lonely and spacious
It's safe and it's secure
It's like a wide open room
That has a slight obscure
It's hollow and cold
But yet warm to the touch
It's not enough
But yet always to much
My love for you, if given a chance,
Will be worth the wait
For we are not as night but nor are we as day
We are somewhere in the middle
Somewhere safe and hidden away
