You are wonderful
Beautiful and so serene
Like a flowing still water lake
Beneath a cold stiff plane of water
Why must I falter?
You remind me of thin wind
Like I'm struggling to rip oxygen
From empty air
Like I'm trying to strip water
From empty plants
It's so very deserted.
I've got nothing to show
For all of this time I wander
I owned the orchard that grew
A hearts embrace
That time has long since passed
I stare across this blind man's ocean
I stare into nothing
An empty reef
For humans were their thief
I belong to the very race
That made this place so very barren
I belong to the race
That drove them to extinction
I promise you I'm lovable
Despite my own shortcomings
I promise I'm capable of loving you
Despite so many faults
Won't you take this grim hand
So shriveled and despised
For deeds I have done with it
Aren't just merely heinous
Yet it's capable of caressing your cheek
Holding you as you weep
Collecting your sobs and holding them
All of this I can promise
No matter how tattered the past may be
I'm still capable of good
I'm still capable of change
Do not give up on me just yet
Though of course
It's your decision to make.
