I arrive and find Lan Zhe sitting on a rock by the stream. I walk over and sit down beside her. "Hello," I greet her with a smile.

"Hey," Lan Zhe replies. We sit in silence for a few minutes before Xiquan comes and sits down beside us.

"Hi!" Xiquan greets.

"Hey," I say. Lan Zhe nods and smiles slightly. "It feels like we've been separated for so long!"

"It's actually been ten years for me!" Lan Zhe corrects.

"Sooooooo... What happened during these 10 years??" Xiquan asks eagerly. Lan Zhe smiles slightly and starts explaining.

"On my first night here, I had a dream and got information on my backstory in this life. I'm actually adopted; my mother was a member of the Laoling Qin Clan; the second niece of the clan leader back then. My father is actually from the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, and because their relationship wasn't well received, they ended up defecting from their sects and became roaming cultivators. They died on a night hunt shortly before I got here, and Lan Qiren brought me into the Gusu Lan Clan to raise me as Wangji and Xichen's sister."

"I can't believe that Lan Qiren took you in!" Xiquan laughs.

Lan Zhe snickers. "I know, right? I was also surprised. Anyways, life was pretty uneventful; I learned the rules of the Cloud Recesses, studied history and learned cultivation. Until one day, Xiongzhang announced that he was going on his first night hunt! We went to Kuizhou, and I met Xue Yang there!"

"REALLY?!" I gasp, not daring to believe my ears.

"Really! I brought him back to be a guest disciple of the Gusu Lan Sect. It was so jarring to see him wearing white!" Lan Zhe laughs. "But..." Her voice lowers and her head drops slightly. "Two years ago, he left. There are too many rules confining his freedom here, and A-Yang left the sect. But then, the Qishan Wen Sect took him in, and Wen Ruohan recently sent him on a task, which is probably to get the piece of Yin Iron that the Yueyang Chang Sect allegedly has."

"Dang... That's a bit concerning," Xiquan remarks. "Hopefully, we can stop him from turning into the Xue Yang that we know. And I want to stop all those other bad things, too!"

"Yeah!" I agree.

"But how?" Lan Zhe asks.

I open my mouth and close it; wanting to say something but not knowing what to say. Xiquan and Lan Zhe seem to be busy thinking, too. Then, Lan Zhe suddenly shouts, "The Yueyang Chang Sect!"

What? I'm confused. What does she mean? "Care to elaborate?" Xiquan and I ask at the same time. Now, I'm starting to think that Jiang Cheng wasn't really wrong. Maybe we do share braincells.

"Originally, Xue Yang exterminated the entire Yueyang Chang Sect for revenge. Maybe in this timeline, he will remember what the Gusu Lan Sect taught him and - Never mind; even if A-Yang does nothing, the Qishan Wen Sect will probably kill them all later... But what if we go with Wei-gongzi and Wangji to find the Yin Iron? Maybe we can get Xue Yang to join our side!" Lan Zhe explains excitedly.

"That's not impossible. Then-" Before Xiquan can finish explaining, we hear loud voices and footsteps approaching.

As the voices get louder, Xiquan, Lan Zhe, and I all reach for our swords, feeling apprehensive. I sigh in relief as I see who the voices belong to; it's just Nie-gongzi and Wei-ge!

Wei-ge's eyes widen in surprise as he sees us. "Xiquan? Bailin? What are you two doing here with Lan-guniang?" he asks.

Lan Zhe stands up and bows to both Wei-ge and Nie-gongzi. They bow back, and Xiquan and I follow suit, greeting Nie-gongzi with a bow.

"We just wanted to hang out with Lan Zhe," Xiquan explains.

"You're Lan Zhan's sister, aren't you?" Wei-ge asks, smiling mischievously.

WEI WUXIAN YOU BETTER NOT BE DOING WHAT I THINK YOU'RE DOING OR I'M TELLING JIANG-GE TO SET THE DOGS ON YOU-

Lan Zhe just nods and confirms her identity. Wei-ge then grins and asks, "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

"WEI WUXIAN!" Xiquan and I scream at him.

Lan Zhe smiles in amusement. "Don't say things that you don't mean."

Wei Ying's face falls. "Aw, you're just like Hanguang-Jun after all. So boring."

"One of the rules of the Cloud Recesses is to not make assumptions of others. Wangji is not boring. You should spend more time with him; I think the two of you would be good for each other," Lan Zhe suggests. She's trying to get Wangxian together, isn't she?

Nie-gongzi, who is standing nearby, shudders. "Hanguang-Jun's presence is already enough to scare someone... Lan-guniang, how do you even survive being his sister?"

"Give him a chance, Wei-gongzi," Lan Zhe says. "And Nie-gongzi, Wangji really isn't that scary. He-" Looking like she nearly said something she shouldn't have, Lan Zhe quickly finished off her sentence with, "Never mind."

I'm quite sure that she nearly spilled one of Hanguang-Jun's secrets. Either way, I know most of them anyway, so yeah. But Wei-ge, who doesn't know at all, asks, "Ooh, what???"

My sister and I burst out laughing.

Lan Zhe just says that it wouldn't be appropriate for her to reveal, and tells Wei Ying to ask Lan-er-gongzi instead. Being the impatient person he is, Wei Ying wants to know immediately, but gets a reminder that there are classes tomorrow. As we prepare to head back, there are sounds of twigs snapping behind us. Standing behind us is a beautiful girl dressed in the crimson robes of the Qishan Wen Clan; Wen Qing.

Wei-ge smiles and slowly approaches her. "What is a girl like you doing back here?" he asks.

Wen Qing glares at him with an annoyed expression and slaps away his hand as he reaches for the needles in her hand. "Don't mess around with a doctor's tools."

Feeling like I have to do something, I quickly step in and apologize to Wen Qing for my brother before returning to our rooms.
