Mentions of blood, other injuries and cursing⚠️

The lightning people guided them through the large cave that soon became smaller and small as they made their way deeper into the cave. Jay felt nervous, mostly because Saphir said that the test would be harder for him since his mothers had been extremely hard so him being a direct descendant would maybe have the same result. but even though his mother had completed her test Jay couldn't help but second guess himself, thinking he was weaker than his mother, and worried he would fail and let everyone down. just like-...

just like what?

jay felt the words he was about to say slip out of his mind, he couldn't remember "stupid memory" Jay muttered angrily. his mind was swaying from anger and anxiety, Saphir -who was in front of him- put a hand up to signal them to stop. Cole and Jay looked at Saphir curiously, "this part is dangerous, one of the parts that are dying the quickest" Saphir said with a sad tone of voice, the ground was indeed dying. bits and pieces were crumbling away, the ground was unstable yet Saphir leaped to a sturdy looking bolder and motioned the others to follow him, the other lightning people made it easily, Cole made it a bit more gracefully than Jay who nearly slipped off the edge. As they made their way deeper Jay noticed that the lightning strikes were less and less frequent just how Saphir had said, he felt his power go one way then another like a exited child wanting to go everywhere at once.

Saphir stopped, Jay peaked around his shoulder and gasped, the cave was filled with bright crystals hanging from everywhere. Saphir turned to Jay and put a hand on his shoulder "this is where we leave you, you must cross the path here to make it to the other side to advance to the next test. but be warned, this is no ordinary path. We will be waiting for you on the entrance to the next test" "so-... so that's it? no pep talk? no advice?" Jay sputtered a bit surprised "your mother was just fine like this" my mom? Jay thought confused. "um- uh ok..." Jay muttered "good luck lightning master" Saphir said as me motioned for the others to follow him, Cole walked up to Jay "so i guess this is where we split up" Cole said awkwardly "yeah... but not permanently!" Jay said quickly "i guess so" Cole smiled and hugged Jay so tight Jay felt his ribs about to burst "don't you dare die on me you big idiot" "wouldn't dream of it boulder brain" Jay said smiling as they pulled away "bye... and take care" Cole said walking off "i will, i'll see you later" Jay said waving Cole off.

As soon as the others were out of sight Jay turned his attention to the path, and boy was Saphir right about it not boing normal, cracks formed on the ground and bits of the floor floated up to the air, Jay got a horrible flashback to what happened to him and Cole. but he was determined to show he was at least not useless so he glared at the rock and reached out for it and jumped. he grabbed the edge and swung his leg over and pulled himself up, he looked up to the other floating boulders and grinned "i might not be like my mom but that doesn't mean i'm not an elemental master" so he jumped, reached the other side. he used his element to give him an extra energy push, he was half way when the boulders started falling, one by one. Jay cursed and turned his attention to getting to the other side.

he leaped to the other side but something grabbed his ankle, he was dragged back down. he turned around to face what had grabbed him and a long black arms was breaking out of the ground, Jay chocked back a scream and blasted the arm with lightning and ran. the arm broke out, soon there was a head a chest a leg and finally the 6ft tall thing crawled out of the ground and shrieked, a horrible loud shriek. it was a slender figure with orange eyes, it looked like it was starved just waiting for fresh meat. Now, Jay had no idea what kind of food it wanted but he definitely did not want to sit down with it and talk about whether pineapple should be on pizza, the only thing on his mind was getting out of this stupid test and making sure to look up "what kind of food does a 6ft tall slender monster like to eat that's not human meat?" on google as soon as he got a hold of the internet.

the monster leaped at him and clawed at him face, Jay fell back to avoid getting his eyes plucked out of their sockets. the monster leaped again and managed to claw the side of him face leaving a bloody claw mark on Jay, at the time Jay couldn't have cared less, he shot a blast of electricity to slow the thing down enough for him not get his leg ripped off. Jay ran desperately to the other side, the monster screamed and scratched Jays leg all the way from his knee to his ankle. Jay shot electricity at the thing and tumbled to the others side, the monster gave him a furious look, screamed one last time and retuned to the underground. Jay tried desperately to get a hold of his breathing as he lay on the ground, the blood of his injuries we trickling down his leg and arm, he felt light headed and tired. yet he couldn't give up. He was not useless not a waist of space, he was Jay walker, Agent Jay walker. and he was not about to let a stupid test kill him, he cursed and shakily got up, he put a hand on the claw mark on his head and saw the blood.

he ignored it and kept walking, ignoring all the pain until he saw Cole. As soon as Cole saw him he ran to him and hugged him, "you dumb dumb idiot i'm so glad you're alive!" said Coles muffled voice, Jay smiled at him. as they pulled away that's when Cole noticed the injuries, "holy shi!t, we need to get you bandages" he said as he helped Jay walk "yeah, that might be a good idea" Jay said half joking as he winced in pain.

When the two of them returned to Saphir and the others, Sphir called a healer to help Jay. the healer was a young girl, she lead Jay to a small tent and made him sit on a stone, "you're Jay right? master of lightning?" she said as they wrapped bandages around his leg. "yeah, but just call me Jay please" he said as he watched the healer do their work "i'm Peony" Peony said smiling "nice to meet you" Jay responded "what did it look like for you?" she said, her voice changing into a serious tone, almost scary "what did what look like?" "the creature, it changes for each elemental master, each to match their fear" peony said frowning "how do you-" "i've lived in this cave for my entire life, so i think i know what i'm talking about" she said quickly "Um... well... i guess- the creature was huge, it had glowing orange eyes and looked about ready to eat itself" Jay stammered "ah, i see... that tip of monster means you're afraid of being useless and a waste of space" "huh... i guess" a few minutes of silence went by and Peony finished patching up Jay "alright there you go! take care ok? the next test is soon be careful ok?"

"i-i.. i will i promise"

will he though? nobody knows! well i kinda do... but you get my point! i hope you're having a good day and if you're not ill go and kick whatever's bothering you in the face! so don't worry! love you all! take care!!
