Writer Prologue: Hey, hey. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for the 2k views on this story. I'm quite surprised that people are still into this and reading it, too. So the last chapter was the end of the bonding chapter, and now we're back to the main tale. I hope you guys enjoy it, and I appreciate everyone who's read this far into the story.
Nomad, Cafe Sweety, and Absolute would be on the surface doing a patrol a couple miles east of the Outpost.
It wasn't obvious to everyone, but Milk, Sugar, and even Eunhwa had noticed that Nomad had been more reserved and quiet the past few days.
It was quite the contrast to how Nomad normally is, though only Milk and Sugar knew the reason as to why he was like this, Eunhwa was in the dark. But that didn't stop her from commenting on it.
"What's going on with him? He looks like his best friend died"
Milk would look at Eunhwa briefly before calling back to that night.
"Please come back to me, George" Would ring in Milks head before looking back at Eunhwa.
"It's... complicated, to say the least. It's also not my place to say." Milk simply stated.
"Tch, hopefully this new mood of his doesn't get us killed"
This would get a reaction from both Sugar and Milk.
"Hey! Don't you start questioning him just because he's at a low point" Sugar told as she would get up in Eunhwa's face.
Now, both squads would stop walking and separate the two. This would catch the attention of Nomad.
He would watch the fight get separated, and shortly after, he would walk up to the two squads.
"What's going on here?" Nomad questioned.
They would all stay quiet for a bit, but Eunhwa would speak up.
"I'm just concerned that your current mood will get us killed. It doesn't seem like you're all there" Eunhwa bluntly stated.
"If you're that concerned about my ability to lead while I'm not in the best head space, then do me a favor" Nomad would pause before unholstering his pistol and offered it to Eunhwa.
"Put one in between my eyes then. Go on, take it"
There would be a tense standoff. Hesitation would come over the Nikke to complete Nomads' order. But Eunhwa would ultimately stand down.
Without a word. Nomad would reholster his pistol and walk away.
Now everything was quiet and a bit tense top. None of the Nikkes had seen Nomad like this before, and they felt this aura of unease and slight rage.
<Shifty, we made it to the search zone. How copy?>
A blue hologram box would show up in the right ride of Nomad's sunglasses, displaying the blued hair operator.
<Roger that Commander, let me know if you find anything>
The box would then disappear, leaving Nomad with his thoughts.
He would turn back to face to the two squads.
"Sweety, head to the northern grid square and look around there. Absolute, you're with me, we're checking out the eastern grid zone. Let's make this quick."
