Val woke up, rolling over to see if Montague was there, but he wasn't. She frowned and got up, dressing with the same clothes she'd worn last night since they were the only clothes she had with her. She tried to arrange her hair and the fur around her neck to hide the hickeys from last night. She was still processing what happened, did they really... do it last night? Val sat back down on the side of the bed and put her face in her hands, remembering what Montague had told her.

A sudden knock on the door startled her and her head shot up to look at the door. It slowly opened and a man in a suite walked in.

"Sir Montague asked that I give you this." He said as he set a silver plate with a metal lid over it on a table near the door. He then left the room and shut the door.

Valeria was so embarrassed that that man had seen her in Montague's room. He probably knew what happened. Her face got red with embarrassment as she remembered what she had told the clerk last night. The whole hotel probably knew what happened last night. How was she supposed to show her face ever again.

Once she finally convinced herself to get up she went over to the plate and lifted up the lid. All that sat on the plate was a letter which Val read, 'Society meeting at 11am, don't be late.'

Val's stomach dropped. How could she have forgotten they had a meeting today? She was not prepared to face the other members this morning, she just didn't have the energy. Val decided she wasn't going to leave the room until it was time to go to the meeting, that way she wouldn't have to see anyone. She went into the bathroom to freshen up before going anywhere though.

The leaders of the Society sat in a room, looking at their watches and glancing at each other in the room in silence. Finally, Valeria came into the room, her hair was messier than usual and she tried to act as normal as possible. She sat next to Nisha and shyly smiled at her. Nisha only looked at her concerned.

How nice of you to join us, sleepyhead." Montague said grinning at Valeria. "Now that everyone is here it's time we get things in order."

Nisha stood up abruptly, "I agree." She said glaring at Montague. Oscar smiled at Nisha and nodded. "Thing's are not in order under your leadership."

Montague grit his teeth together, "And what might you mean by that?"

"You have ignored the obvious signs that people are retaliating, attacks on our shipments, our bases and allies, even our houses..." Nisha paused and glanced at Val. Val stared at her wondering how she knew already. "Yet you choose to blame others while you keep all the resources that could help us defend against these attacks to yourself."

"I have no idea what you're talking about!" Montague stood up and angrily slammed his fists on the table.

"I have the records, Montague, there's no running from the truth." Nisha said while keeping her demeanor calm. "It's time for a new leader, one with experience and who will make sure everyone is protected."

"You can NOT do this!" Montague shouted, angrily pointing at Nisha.

"Let's have a vote shall we?" Nisha said, tossing a paper towards Montague. "Each member of The Society has voted already and the majority speaks."

"How-" Montague began, looking at the paper.

"Kavel sent a letter to each member and they have put in their voices, Oscar will be our new leader." Nisha said as she motioned to Oscar.

"NO! He is- He is going to ruin The Society, which I started! None of you would be here today if it wasn't for me!" Montague attempted to defend.

"The members have spoken, Montague." Nisha said.

"Oh no is little Monty finally getting something stolen from him?" Oscar mocked.

Montague's face was red with anger it looked like her was about to explode. "Don't-" Montague said turning to look at Oscar, "EVER call me that!" Oscar smirked knowing he picked a nerve with him.

Valeria sat in silence watching the spectacle in front of her, Montague was screaming and pointing fingers and the others were trying to rationalize with him. Was everything true? Was he really holding troops to himself even after all the train attacks? She wouldn't have been able to reinforce the trains if she had wanted to. At least they were so distracted with each other they paid no attention to her.

"This meeting is over, you've lost Montague." Oscar said putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Get off of me, animal!" Montague spat at Oscar.

Oscar looked disappointed and turned to leave, but not before looking back, "This is exactly why you don't lead, Montague, you're too childish." He said and then walked out.

Montague stood in place fuming, yelling some words in French, most likely curses.

Nisha looked at Val and held her hand out to her. Val looked up at her and took her hand and got up.

"You should go." Nisha told Valeria looking at her closely. Val just nodded her head and left.

Nisha turned her attention to Montague who stood in disbelief. "Listen to me closely," Nisha said looking Montague in the eyes, "You got what you wanted, you broke her, you used her, now stay the fuck away or I will kill you." Nisha never swore, she found it uncivilized, but only when she was extremely enraged.

Montague glared at Nisha, "She'll never want you."

Nisha paused on her way out the door and she barely looked back, "I know."
