The harsh sun rays blinded my eyes, and the metal seat that am sitting on is beginning to burn my ass off. But it was a good place to stop and contemplate life when you're in a Juvenile Detention Centre.

It feels like forever since I have been in here. When in reality it has only been 6 months, only half way to seeing my Hayley everyday for the rest of my life.

The Juvi life is surprisingly uneventful, I had made a few friends, Jack and Scott who were 15 and 16. They are in here for arson and attempted robbery. Charming.

They were a laugh to be around, which helped it to make it not to feel like being in a detention centre.

But the one thing you couldn't escape was the brawls every once in a while, and the alliances and groups of buff and scary looking 18 year old men that caused them.

That was one thing I thought I would never be a part of. But I hoped most people knew that I didn't want any trouble, and was just doing my time and getting out. Although from a group of buff and scary looking 18 year old men, I did receive some unnerving glares.

(a/n Casey and Hayley are only 17; sorry if i said they were 18, but they are still in high school. that is also the highest age considered a 'juvenile')

The pairs of sweaty hands that clenched around my biceps dragged me into the communal bathroom, to my eventual beating. I struggled, and they laughed. But I didn't know what else to do.

I looked up into the faces of my abusers, but their faces were covered with balaclavas. All I could see was their wide grins that sent shivers down my spine.

They threw me into the men's shower room, the knock sending a shot of pain through my skull.

From my position on the cold, hard ground I could see some legs run out as they yelled at them to do so.

I tried to escape the hold of the men, but four men were holding my limbs down, restraining me, as the leader started throwing the punches. First to my head, jaw and temples, but then also to my abdomen and side.

Each blow sent a pounding earthquake crashing through my body. The vision of the wet and blood stained floor began to blur as the blows kept coming, and eventually faded to black.

My eyes were met with the a sterile white ceiling. The nurse had told me that I had been unconscious for four days, and that I had to be treated outside of the detention centre because my injuries were to severe.

"Three broken ribs, a fractured skull, a dislocated hip and a broken jaw," the nurse said bluntly. She was a very pretty nurse, with long red/brown hair, pulled up into a messy bun and sparkling blue/green eyes that shrunk when she flashed her thin smile at me.

"And also, a dislocated shoulder, a punctured lung and a fractured cheekbone," she politely added.

My breathing started to get shallow, my heart started to beat out of my chest and small droplets of sweat began to form on my forehead.

There were beeps that started to sound on the machines beside me, and the young nurse ran out of the room.

No one can know that this happened, even if that means another secret I keep from Hayley.

Now I know the way Kian felt.

so this chapter was basically Casey complaining about not seeing Hayley for like ages, and getting beaten up. The beat-up part was actually quite difficult to write, and i think it turned out alright. I hope you liked this chapter, don't hate me for being so late, stupid wifi hasn't been working for like the past couple of days, and i just went away for the weekend, where i just wanted to get away for a bit. But here I am now! And I am hoping to get the next chapter up in the next week, but knowing me... don't hold your breath. Also I began writing a big part in hayley's POV, then I realised it would be like MEGA LONG. so i am going to try and squeeze another chapter in just for you guys!! i hope you don't mind, i just want to get as many chapters as possible before its over.
