The gasps that came out from the mouths of my friends was audible from the other side of the cafeteria, the questions began firing at me faster than a shotgun.
"What? You mean the friend you have known for 10 years?" asked Katelyn.
"Awwww !" was all Lauren could say.
"Hayley, this is terrible."
Beth silence the whole table with her blunt comment.
"What?" Hayley said.
Beth turned a slight shade of pink, and replied;
"Well, you have been friends for so long that something like this could totally wreck it and turn it into a fireball of burning hatred towards one another," she said softly.
The whole table sat there with wide eyes and open mouths. Her eyes went wide and she hung her head.
"Or something."
"Well the thing is, it all started on the night of Kirstin's party, Casey and I sang karaoke together, and he didn't know it was me, and i didn't know how i felt until..."
"Until?" Lauren asked.
"Until I kissed him."
*gasp*
"Twice." I added
*gasp*
"He did not know it was me, and it just felt so right you know? You guys, I have been keeping my feelings from Casey for like a year, why don't I just tell him?
I walked into school the next day, ready to tell Casey everything. When I opened the doors, there was flyers everywhere, like someone had lost their pet bird.
It had a picture of the mask that I had worn in the night, as well as 'Who is the Masked Singer?' written in bold letters across the top.
Added on top of that, Casey was standing in the middle of the hall singing:
"It's the start of something new, it feels so right to be here with you oh,'
But then Casey caught Hayley's eye, stopped singing, and came over to her.
"Hey Hail, want to help me look for her?" he asked.
"Who?" I stupidly replied.
"The love of my life, obviously," he waved his arm behind him, gesturing to everything he had done for her.
"Um, not particularly. Sorry Case. I have to go," and with that, I stormed off, leaving Casey dumbfounded.
Casey's voice called after me, longing for my return. But I couldn't face him, so I just kept walking. I could hear his old Vans coming towards her on the tiled floor, but I ran out the door before he could catch me.

I know, I know. Short right?
But i started writing the next bit in Hayley's POV, and the mood was all different, so I just put it in another chapter, so that the mood was set first for the next chapter which will also be up at around the same time as this one.
See you soon,

P.S There is something a bit new and exciting happening in the next chapter, but judging by my writing capabilities, you probs won't be as excited as I am... :)
