The cool wind caressed Hayley's face, hitting her golden mask. She stood on the wooden balcony on Kirstin's Mitchell's house, unable to move from what she had just done inside. She had kissed the most popular, and hottest, guy in school... by accident.

Don't get me wrong, she loved it, enjoyed it even, but it felt wrong. Hayley was scared, what if her relationship with Casey is wrecked because of this? What if he didn't like her in that way?? But here she was, contemplating whether speak to her bestest friend.

'This is ridiculous,' Hayley thought.

'Once he knows it was me, everything will be okay. Right?'

As she twirled around to go to speak to Casey, he was walking towards her.

"Um-"

Her sentence was interrupted by him crashing his lips on hers. The kiss was slow and gentle, just as Hayley had imagined a first kiss to go like. She didn't want it to end. But Casey pulled away, with a look of suprise and satisfaction gleaming in his eyes.

"Oh," was all Hayley could manage.

"Umm, sorry, i just had to do that again. Do you want to walk and talk?" Casey asked.

"Definitely." Hayley stared at his ice blue eyes that somhow made her feel more at home than anything.

They went outside under the star-lit path, and talked.

"Who are you?" was the first thing that Casey asked. Hayley felt something insideher that wanted to life of the mask and show him, but Hayley quite enjoyed the attention and intrigue from him. :)

"Do you actually want me to tell you?" she asked.

"No..."

"Then why did you ask?"

"There is a part inside me that wants to know, but another that wants to keep the suspense going."

Hayley and Casey always talked about 'parts inside them' when they were indecisive, kind of like a private joke.

She chuckled a little bit at that... then suddenly they were both laughing out loud, he didn't even know what about.

"Haha, ha. Okay, how about 10 questions?" Casey asks.

"Um, okay!" Hayley replies, eager.

"Okay, you do actually go to our school right?"

"Of course!" she laughed.

"Ok, well i was just making sure!"

"Hmmm, alright. Books or movies?" He asks

"Oh my gosh! You can't ask a girl a question like that! Seriously?"

"Yep."

"That's like trying to choose between Batman and Spiderman."

He just grins smugly.

"Ugh, ok. Books," Hayley quickly covers her face with her hands and giggles. 🙈

"What? Really?"

"I know..."

"In movies, you can experience everything, the colours, the sounds, and actually see the people and things. in books you just have to imagine." He rebutts.

"Yeah, i guess. But in books, you have the ability to strain you rimagination. In movies, its just handed to you like that. And they miss out all the good bits!"

"Okay, okay." He surrenders. 😊

"Next question-" he starts before he was cut off by Hayley.

"Ok, let's cut the crap Casey."

"Uh- Ok..." A confused expression stumbles upon his face.

"I have known you for a long time, and I have loved you for a long time. But that doesn't matter because you have no idea who I am, but I just want to know that I do," Hayley sighed.

"Do what?"

"Love you, Casey. Goodbye."

And with that, Hayley pushed her lips onto his for a moment, kicked off her heels into her hands and ran off, oblivious to the fact the Casey was only a few steps behind her.

All Casey saw when he had almost reached her was a flash of midnight, and she was gone. But a glimmer of sun at the top of the stairs had blinded him.

He ran up to it, a broken gold chain holding a silver key was laying on the step.

This was his key to finding his mystery girl that he had fallen for.
