After everything was laid out, I stand back with Ruby and admire how great the garden looks.

Small fountains spread across the grass with a bench swing in the centre at the back, a bbq area in the bottom right and flower beds laid out perfectly.

"This, is pretty great." She smiles, running her fingers through her hair as sweat cascades down her forehead.

"It is, surprised an old lady like you can lift heavy objects." I bite the corner of my lip, and she laughs, swatting me in the arm.

"Right, thank you for your help, probably would've died otherwise. I'm going to go home and shower and get dressed into clean clothes for dinner." She shrugs, walking with me through the garage to her front door.

"See you soon, little girl." She smirks, before walking back into her house.

I shower, letting the cool water run down my body and wash away all the sticky sweat. I wash my hair, dry myself, and pick out something plain to wear for dinner round the Tolero household.

I walk around my bedroom in my towel, and walking past the window I see a figure opposite.

I panic, throwing the curtain around my body as I look, not realising that Ruby's room was opposite mine. The last neighbours were old, they always kept their curtains shut in that room, never knew why.

I peak my eye out the window, and I see Ruby sat comfortably on her bed, watching TV as it looks. She hasn't seen me, and she probably has no idea I can see her.

She's changed into a white button up and black jeans, she most definitely is a lesbian. Not that I mind, she seems like a nice girl, if I swung that way I'm pretty sure I'd be head over heels for her, she's stunning.

She's biting her lip, as she leans back more onto her bed, as comfy as she could possibly feel. I laugh a little, because I kind of do the same, before shutting my curtains, and getting dressed.

I wore a white camisole, with black high waisted skinny jeans and white converse, casual, but a little fancy.

I kiss my mum on the cheek before heading over, and knock on the door.

Dinner is good. Ruby's parents are really down to earth and friendly, but Ruby, she's a little of the opposite. She's sarcastic, with a good sense of humour, but at the same time doesn't take shit off anyone.

I feel Ruby's eyes burn into the side of my face throughout dinner, as I make conversation with Mark and Angelina. She knows I've noticed it, and I know it's just her trying to wind me up.

I finish my plate and offer to wash the dishes, however mark beats me to it, and Angelina goes to join him.

"Want to tell me why you've been staring at me all night?" I laugh, raising an eyebrow at her from across the table.

"You had a massive spaghetti chunk on the side of your mouth for like, the whole dinner." She snickers, and I suddenly get self conscious and wipe my entire mouth with a napkin.

"I'm kidding," she laughs, hard, and it's a very attractive noise to hear.

"You punk!" I laugh with her, throwing the napkin at her, but she catches it, smiling, trying not to laugh as she raises an eyebrow.

"Thank you for dinner, if you ever need any help with anything let me or my mum know." I hug both Mark and Angelina, before walking out the door.

I get to my front door, fiddling with the keys as I hear footsteps behind me.

I swing my body round in panic, it's 10pm and it's pitch black.

My back presses against the door and Ruby comes out the shadows, with a concerned look on her face.

"Hey, it's just me, are you alright?" I let out a deep breath, and hit her on the arm.

"Don't scare me like that you ass." I laugh, her voice has already calmed me down.

"Sorry," she bites her bottom lip, trying not to laugh.

"Stalking me now?" I tease, and she folds her arms, eyebrows lifted.

"Nope, matter of fact you left your bracelet on my dinner table. Was ordered to take it back to you." She placed my pandora bracelet in my palm, her fingertips grazing against mine.

"Thank you," I breathe, looking down at the small charms.

"Wait, ordered? Thought you said you don't do what other people say?" she laughs, before taking a step towards me.

"As I've said, little girl," she smirks.

"I don't do anything out of obligation, if I do it, I do it because I want to." She tucks a small strand of hair behind my ear and that's enough for me to feel awkward.

"Right, thank you, good night." I mumble, shoving my keys nervously into the keyhole and opening the door, shutting it quickly behind me.

What the fuck was that?

I confusingly walk upstairs, strip down and wash, before getting into bed, shutting my eyes instantly to try and forget what just happened.
