Draco felt like an idiot, he held her hand. Why did he hold her hand?. He couldn't focus on his friend's conversations around him, his eyes were trained on the Ravenclaw table, where he could see the back of Juliet's head only. Maybe she did that on purpose, so that she didn't have to look at him. Draco put some food onto his plate but the whole time he was looking in her direction, he had no interest in anything else and it was becoming dangerous. He had an order, a task to complete but in the recent weeks, his new task had been her. Not on orders from anyone else, but on his own initiative.

"What are you looking at?" Blaise Zabini's voice broke Draco from his trance and suddenly he felt embarrassed, he redirected his eyesight onto the table.

"Nothing." Draco wouldn't dare let them know that he was staring at her. As far as they knew, he wanted to know her secret and that was it. They didn't know about his newly found caring for the girl.

Blaise seemed satisfied because he shrugged his shoulders and continued eating and now that Draco was back in touch with what was happening around him, he could hear irritating voices a little further down the table.

"You'll never guess what...that Ravenclaw girl, Juliet Walters, turned up to advanced potions with bruises all over her neck" Pansy Parkinson was one of the most annoying people that Draco had ever met. He'd been forced to be her friend in his younger years simply because she was a 'respected Pureblood'. But he couldn't stand the girl.

"What like love bites?" The second voice belonged to Daphne Greengrass. Pansy's most trusted friend and when the two girls were together, Draco honestly felt like using the killing curse on himself.

"No, like actual bruises. Someone strangled her...of course it got around when she turned up to class like that but...hey! Draco!"

Draco lifted his eyes from his plate and looked in her direction. "What".

"Did Walters really have bruises all over her neck? You're in class with her" Pansy smiled widely.

"Parkinson it's very rude to gossip about other people. So how about, you keep that cake hole of yours...shut" Draco spat the words harshly and he knew his constant sticking up for Juliet was starting to raise questions.

Pansys jaw fell slack and her eyes widened at his outburst, but she had finally shut up. Draco suddenly lost any appetite he did have, no amount of food would help fill his cravings for her.

"What's with that...you keep defending her lately. Why?" Blaise had his eyes narrowed on Draco.

"I told you. I need to know how she keeps her thoughts shielded." Draco huffed in annoyance. Blaise Zabini wasn't stupid, if anything he was probably smarter than Draco.

"Yeah...right" Blaise didn't push. He already knew, he knew everything.

"I need to go. Got patrolling to do. When you see Nott, tell him I want to see him later tonight in the common room" Draco stood up abruptly, straightening out his robes as he did so, before he disappeared from the hall. He had partly lied, he did have patrolling but not for another hour, his current priority was going to be waiting outside of the Ravenclaw commons for Juliet to return. He'd been watching her and he'd come to know her schedule well, she always came back to her room before she met him for patrolling. Although this might not be his best idea because he was sure as hell that Eleanor White would not give in to him and Juliet talking alone but he had to straighten things out.
