Just a typical day on the Isle for me and the rest of the VKs. Nothing ever changed here, and personally, that was the way I liked it.

I bit my lip slightly as I looked at the man beside me, distracting him from my twin brother, Jay, who was stealing the bag of coins in his belt.

Mal was at the front, holding up a lollipop she had taken from a baby, the rest of the group and a lot of other Isle inhabitants stood behind her laughing.

When the crowd began to part to make way for an unknown figure, Mal spun around and cleared her throat. "Hi mom." She plastered on a fake smile.

"Stealing candy Mal? I'm so disappointed." Her voice was instantly recognizable as many of the other villains scattered, including the one I was flirting with.

I sent a questioning look to Jay, asking him if he had grabbed the pouch in time, and in response he held it up and jangled it around slightly.

We both stepped forward with Evie and Carlos, right behind Mal. "It was from a baby?" Mal tried, handing it to her mother, awaiting the woman's approval.

"That's my nasty little girl." Maleficent smirked, taking the lollipop and spitting on it before shoving it under the purple and black fabric creases in her armpit.

"Give it back to the dreadful creature." She commanded one of her goons.

Mal groaned, "Mom!"

"It's the deets, Mal, that make the difference between mean and truly evil!" She said the last few words slightly louder and more directed at the mother of the baby Mal had stolen from.

"When I was your age I was cursing entire kingdoms. You... walk with me." Maleficent instructed her daughter and I turned to Evie, who just seemed bored of the same conversations over and over again.

They began their murmuring until Maleficent spun around quickly and yelled out; "Oh there's news! I buried the lead!" She cackled and then faced all of us.

"You five have been chosen to go to a different school.... in Auradon." At her words, the five of us, except Mal, spun around in an attempt to make a run for it, but unfortunately Maleficent's goons were already there and caught us.

I squirmed in Harris' arms, hitting his shoulders and yelling at him to release me from his dirty, grimey grip.

Mal put her hand up to stop the commotion. "What?" She almost-yelled, "I'm not going to some boarding school filled to the brim with prissy pink princesses."

I brushed down my skirt and sent a quick glare at Harris before nodding my agreement.

"And perfect princes." Evie cut in, her voice soft and dreamy. All it took was one joint look from me and Mal and she added a quick, "Ugh."

"Uh- yeah and I don't do uniforms. Unless it's leather. You feel me?" Jay chuckled, swinging his hand up to meet mine in a high-five, but it was very one-sided because I just glared at him and left him hanging.

"I read somewhere that they allow dogs in Auradon?" Carlos mumbled, his normally pale face drained of any colour it had left, "Mom said they're rabid pack animals who eat boys who don't behave..."

I rolled my eyes as I watched Jay creep up behind Carlos and bark at him, causing Carlos to jump and hit him.

"Isn't stealing illegal there?" I asked Carlos and he nodded, "Yeah no, I'm not going then."

"Yeah mom we're not going!" Mal said decisively, though Maleficent still looked defiant.

"Oh you're thinking small, pumpkin. It's all about world domination!" She licked her teeth as if the idea sounded tastier than Chip Shoppe fish, which honestly wouldn't be hard to beat, and then turned to her goons. "KNUCKLEHEADS!"
