After everything, I wasn't worried about everyone seeing me cry, all I cared about was being in Ali's arms as I escaped the future I realised that I didn't want for myself.

"I wanna listen to my heart, too..." Mal finally said from somewhere behind me. I wiped my eyes as I pulled away from Ali but kept my back pressed against his chest and his arms round my waist.

"And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents." She smiled as she dropped the wand to her side and turned to us four.

"I mean- stealing things doesn't make you happy." Mal giggled, gesturing at Jay, "Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy!"

The four of us chuckled at Mal's comment about pizza, because it was ultimately true. I don't think I'd seen Jay smile as much as he did when he ate his first slice of Pepperoni Pizza after the game.

"Carlos, scratching dude's belly makes you happy who would've thought." Mal smiled at the boy, and a smile formed on my face too.

I'd always felt quite attached to Carlos, because he just was a ray of hope in a dark world, he was less rotten than the rest of us and now, in Auradon with Dude he still was that same little ray of hope.

"Evie, you do not need to play dumb to get a guy, you are so smart!" Evie nodded at her best friend's words, her eyes filled with happy tears.

And then, Mal finally turned to me, "And Jaz, I know you think you need to be strong and hot all the time but you don't. It's okay to not be every guy's dream girl, because your Ali's, clearly."

Jay chuckled as I blushed, "Yeah sis, he's whipped."

We all burst into laughter at my brother's comment. I tilted my head up to lock eyes with Ali, who rolled his eyes at the accusation and proceeded to laugh.

When he met my gaze, he kissed me on the forehead, causing my lips to twist into a smirk.

"Damn, he's right..." I giggled, and he tickled my sides to shut me up.

Mal sighed, choking back tears, "And I don't wanna take over the world with evil, it doesn't make me happy... I wanna go to school... and be with Ben- because Ben makes me really happy."  She turned around and smiled through her tears, showing off the ring on her finger.

I felt Ali tense behind me when he saw it and quickly ran his hand over mine to check If I was wearing his, when he felt the cold metal, he sighed in relief and I just laughed at him.

Mal turned back to us, "Us being friends makes me really happy.... not destroying things." She took a deep breath before sticking her fist out in front of her, "I choose good you guys."

She looked around at us expectantly, her eyes glistening.

"I choose good, too." Jay smiled, putting his fist against hers. The small smile on my face dropped.

Evie followed suit and soon it was just me and Carlos who hadn't.

"So- heh, just to be clear, we don't have to be worried about how mad our parents are gonna be?" We all laughed at the boy, well, everyone except me, "Cause they're gonna be really mad."

"Your parents can't reach you here." Ben smiled, stepping forward.

Carlos nodded and chose good, but I still felt a hole burning in my chest.

"I'm not an Auradon girl..." I sighed, their faces falling at my words.

"Jaz-"

"No." I wriggled out of Ali's grasp, my face wet with tears.

"I can't leave him there, Jay. He cares about me." I mumbled, my eyes meeting Jay's as I sobbed.

"You can always call him, and check in." Ben suggested and I felt a little better. I nodded.

I smiled and put my fist in the centre.

Mal looked relieved as she looked over her shoulder at Ben and Ali. "Come on, don't just stand there you two."

I giggled as Ali came and stood beside me, joining the circle of fists as he used his spare hand to hold my waist.

But, just like all supposed-happy-endings, it was ruined by a clap of thunder and a billowing cloud of green smoke.

And then, standing in the centre of the red carpet, stood Maleficent.

"I'm back." She sang, swinging her scepter around dramatically.

"It can't be..." Evie whispered, clutching onto Carlos, who was holding onto her even tighter.

"Go away, mother." Mal droned, clearly irritated as she held the wand in the air beside her.

Maleficent snorted ather words, "Oh- oh you're funny. Oh- she's funny... Here. Wand me, chop chop."

I stared at Mal and shook my head gently and pointed to Jay's playbook in his hand.

She nodded and faked right, to Maleficent but then threw it left to Fairy Godmother.

"BIBBIDY BOBBIDY-"

"Boo." Maleficent mimicked as she pushed her scepter into the space and a loud bang sounded.

Everything then, went black.

When my consciousness regained, I heard a roar, and then Ben ran straight past me and into Mal's arms.

"Woah, okay okay. We got this all wrapped up here." Mal smiled, chuckling at her boyfriend. She squealed as Ben picked her up off her feet and spun her around.

"Next time, I rescue you okay?" Ben chuckled, staring into Mal's green eyes.

"Yeah... let's not let there be a next time, okay?" Mal giggled, wrapping her arms around her prince charming and smiling.

Her fairytale ending was just around the corner.

"No fair! Why'd she freeze me and not you guys?!" I pouted, folding my arms.

"Necklace." Jay said simply with a shrug.

I rose an eyebrow at his extremely vague answer and Carlos laughed.

"Maleficent was scared of you and the necklace." The De Vil boy clarified and my mouth made an 'O' shape before I felt someone's hand grip my own and tug me into their chest.

Ali's eyes drifted over my body as his arms kept me locked against his chest.

"What is it?" I asked curiosly as I tried to look at my dress to find the thing he was looking at, but his hand gripped my chin and pulled my eyes up to his.

"Your brothers right... Jazzy, I'm fucking whipped." He mumbled, before he connected our lips in a kiss that meant so much more than the one on the magic carpet. This time it felt passionate and loving.

When I pulled away from the kiss, Mal hurried back over and joined a group hug with the others.

"Let's get this afterparty started!" Jay yelled enthusiastically, causing us all to laugh.

"Oh ay oh ay hey!" We sang, giggling.

And there it was... my happy ending with my perfect prince, and it was hopefully always going to stay like this.
