Y/n's POV
"Azareah stop playing and put on your clothes. Mommy has to go to work baby" I sighed, trying to get her shirt over her head.
"Nooo mommy I don't wanna go to grandma's. I wanna stay here 'wif' you" she pouted, pushing the shirt away from her head.
"Azzy either you put your clothes on or you don't get sweets tonight." she instantly sat up and let me put her clothes on. I picked her up and took her to the bathroom.
I sat Azzy on the counter as I quickly put her hair into two pigtails. I chose some bows that went with her outfit and sent her to the living room. I walked back into her room gathering everything she'd need for staying at my moms while I'm at work.
I sat her stuff in the living room watching as she sat on the couch watching tv. I lightly smiled before going to my room. I walked over to my bedside table grabbing my phone and looking at the time.
I only had thirty minutes to get dressed, drop Azzy off, and head to work. I threw my phone down before quickly changing into my work clothes. After I got dressed I fixed my hair and grabbed my purse and phone.
I walked into the living room turning off the tv and walking over to Azareah. "Come on momma has to put your shoes on." She scooted to the edge of the couch as I slipped her shoes on.
I grabbed all of our things, looking around the room one more time making sure I wasn't leaving anything. I grabbed Azzy's hand before walking out the door. I made sure to lock it before heading to my car.
Time Skip
I pulled into my moms driveway, unlocking the doors and getting out. I got Azzy and all of her things out the car before waking to the front door. I knocked a couple times before my mom swung the door open.
"Hi momma sorry but I'm late for work here's all her stuff" I said giving my mom Azzy and her things. "Alright mommy loves you be good for grandma okay" I smiled down at her hoping she would behave.
"Bye mommy 'wove' you"
"Bye momma I'll be back to pick her up around eight" I yelled walking back to my car. "Okay be safe I love you" I smiled back at my mom before getting in the car and driving away.
While stopping at a red light, I checked the time on my phone. I only had ten minutes to get to work. I really hoped there wasn't any traffic because I did not wanna hear my boss yelling at me for being late again.
The light turned green and I drove off. I made it to work with only a minute left. I quickly hopped out my car locking it and making my way inside. I walked through the back of the cafe. I clocked into work and grabbed an apron.
I put the apron on and walked to the front of the counter. "Hey girl I saw you rushing in everything okay" I heard my coworker/ best friend Cameron say.
I turned to her and sighed "Yea it's just Azareah was putting up a fight with me today and I was almost late to work again. I've already been late three times this week."
She gave me a sympathetic smile and rubbed my shoulder. "It's just really hard to raise her on my own sometimes. Like I know you and my parents help out sometimes but it's still hard you know"
"It's okay girl cheer up. We're gonna make this shift real good. I just know one day you gone find you a good ass man that's gone sweep you off your feet" she grinned walking over to the cashier to take orders.
I shook my head lightly laughing at her comment. I don't think I'll be dating anytime soon. I have a lot going on in my life and I don't have time for a boyfriend.
I strolled over to the second cashier on the counter and waited to take orders. Our rush hour time came up and the cafe filled with lots of people. I sighed getting ready for this to be a long ass shift.
