Y/n's POV
Today me and Azareah were meeting Jelyssa and Ryken at the park. Jelyssa hit me up and asked if we could meet up and the kids could play, since Ryken wanted to see Azzy again.
So right now Azzy and I were on our way to the park.
I walked through the park, pushing Azzy's stroller with one hand and holding Azzy's with the other. I spotted Jelyssa giving Ryken a Capri-sun. "Hey Jelyssa!" I called out, making my way over. "Hey Y/n" Jelyssa smiled.
Azareah instantly pulled away from me, running to where Ryken was standing.
"Ry!" She shouted holding her small arms out. He copied her actions, bringing her closer into a hug. "Hi"
They pulled away from the hug, smiling at each other. I finally made it to the bench Jelyssa was sitting on. "Momma we go play now?" Azzy's asked me. I shook my head yes and the two little kids ran off. Jelyssa played with her hair, staring at the kids playing tag.
My eyes couldnt help but linger on her toned arms. Her muscle flexed every time she moved.
I looked away taking a deep breathe, catching a whiff of the freshly cut grass, and the faint hint of sunscreen that lingered in the cool air. "So, how's life treating you?" Jelyssa asked, licking her lips, and giving me a quick glance. I took a moment to gather my thoughts. "Um it's been good lately. You?"
Jelyssa nodded, "It's cool, could be better though."
"Mmm" I nodded back.
We were both just looking at our kids and seeing how much chemistry they had, and they've only saw each other like two times. I mean that's kids for you. Jelyssa sat up against the bench, eyes never leaving her little boy on the playground. "So if you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?"
I sat my phone down into my lap, "No it's fine. I um I work at this coffee shop. It's actually kinda nice."
Jelyssa glanced at me before turning her attention back onto the playground. "Do you like working there?"
I scooted up into the seat, rubbing my hands onto my thighs, "I mean it's okay, it's not my dream job, but it pays my bills so." I said shrugging at the end. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a pink starburst, "Well what's your dream job?"
I sighed, thinking back to when I first graduated high and I was ready to start my career.
"I wanted to be a sports medicine physician." Jelyssa's jaw dropped. "Naw man, really? That's cool though. I could see you doing that."
A grin began to grow onto my face, "Yea, wanted to be once since eighth grade. I actually went to college for it but had to drop out because I had Azareah." Jelyssa's face eased into shock. "Yea I only needed twenty more hours until I got my other degree."
Jelyssa wipped her heads towards me. "Wow man. You should go back and do it. I mean she's older now and It'll probably be easier to do it now if you have people that could watch her." I bit the inside of my cheek.
Maybe I should go back and try to get my degree. I mean this is something that I've always wanted to do. And maybe I'd end up working for the Sparks. HOPEFULLY!!
For the rest of the time there we chatted getting to know each other. I learned that she used a sperm donor to have Ryken. She said she always wanted kids but she didn't like men so she decided this was her option.
She also told me that she wouldn't be having another kid after she pushed Ryken out. She said she was in labor for 10 hours, and being pregnant was hell for her.
I couldn't imagine being in labor for ten hours. I was crying through my four hours with Azzy. I couldn't even do those four hours let alone do ten. My prayers go out to her.
I wondered what she looked like pregnant. She told me she was still kinda girly ish when she had him, so I'd definitely need to see the pictures.
The sun and set and the kids were now worn out, tired, hungry, and sleepy.
We called them over and gathered all of our things.
As we walked out of the park, I smiled, looking at Ryken and Azareah skip ahead of us, holding hands. Me and Jelyssa walked beside each other, conversation flowing easily. She talked about her love for cars and her hopes for the future. I found myself being drawn to her even more now.
Her kindness, her humor, and her genuine interest in everything, made my heart pulse.
When we reached our cars, surprised we parked next to each other. Jelyssa thanked me for coming along, I simply smiled and said it was my pleasure. Azzy and Ryken asked if they could have another playdate soon.
Jelyssa and I agreed to the suggestion. We exchanged numbers and made plans for the kids to play again next weekend, when we were both off. I watched as Ryken was holding Jelyssa's hand and speaking to her. Her attention was solely focused on him, and her eyes were filled with adoration.
He said something about Lego's when they get home. We said our goodbyes and went our own ways. Me and Azzy stopped at Canes to get some food. I grabbed our bag from the drive through worker and headed home
We arrived at home, immediately opening the bag and eating. I could tell Azzy was tired, as she kept falling asleep with chicken in her mouth.
I quickly washed her up and placed her in her bed. I kissed her good night and left her room. Walking into my own room, I placed my phone on the charger. I walked into my bathroom and turned on the shower. I undressed myself and hopped in the shower.
Once I was out I dressed myself, did my skincare, and got under my covers. I watched some tv before falling asleep.

Sitting down thinking about how many times I've seen her this week since we've met. I ve never seen her around before until we met t the coffe shops.
