"Y/N L/N,

The purpose of this letter is to notify you that a spot is waiting for you at the University for Super Hero Training, or USHT.

We deeply apologize that this letter did not come sooner, as classes have started about a month ago.

This is not a request. A representative of the university will arrive at your residence shortly to pick you up.

With best wishes,

Professor Lauren Hadern (Shadow Queen)"

"That's all there is." Y/N said. "A bit vague if you ask me."

"I'll say! 'This is not a request.' What right do they have to force you to that prestigious shitshow?" Sophia Hangton exclaimed.

A letter had just arrived at Y/N's "house," saying the above. And it was during such an important time, too. Y/N, Sophia Hangton, or Seraphina, and Jade Dunant, or Rixende, were planning a murder.

But it wasn't any murder. It was the murder of notorious drug lord Calen Trent. Accused on multiple counts of extortion, bribery, blackmail, and attempted kidnapping, they figured that taking him out would make the streets of Capital City that much safer.

"Sir, if I may interject-"

"Now's not really a good time, JARVIS." Y/N cut the well-meaning AI off. "They said a 'representative' would be here soon to pick us up. Go check up on the exterior security cams."

Jade walked in. "Still no sign of anybody. Are you certain they weren't pulling our legs?"

Sophia shook her head. "Positive. If there's anything I know about that place, it's that they mean business." She shuddered.

"But why would they drag us there like that? It seems like something a villain would do." She noticed Y/N staring off into the distance. "Okay, Y/N. Tell JARVIS to fuck off and help us figure out what to do."

Y/N blinked. "I told him to go check on the exterior cams. If anything so much as moves funny, he'll let me know."

"Good. At least you're here to protect us," Sophia teased. "We wouldn't know what we would do without our knight in shining armor." Y/N scowled while Jade let out an audible chuckle.

--------------------------------------

"It's been an hour, and JARVIS still hasn't notified you?" Jade asked.

"Trust me, I would've told you if he had." Y/N shot back. "Hadern didn't specify how shortly."

"I don't like it. You're telling me he hasn't seen anything suspicious? What if the agent can turn invisible?" Sophia inquired.

"The cameras have infrared motion sensors, as well as thermal detectors. No invisible dustbin is sneaking up on us. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to think." Y/N lifted them up and sent them out of the dining room and onto the couch and closed the door. All with psychokinesis.

"There was more to that letter, sir. You know that."

"If I'd told them that there was, I'd have to do a lot of explaining. About stuff that I don't want to explain, and frankly, hope I never have to."

He flipped the paper.

All right. I'm gonna cut the formalities and outright tell you.

What happened during Project Wild Card was tragic. Nobody can deny that.

But it's organizer also set up an auction for the results. And the attendees were villains. And they are searching for you.

Normally, we allow recipients of this invitation a choice to whether to accept or not. But the fact that you have no guardians to train you, and it is my understanding that you travel with two other persons, persons that are in extreme danger because of you.

This is a chance for protection from dangerous people like the villains who want you. You will be surrounded by other people with abilities. You will receive top-notch training as well as learn to defend yourself properly.

All of this is for you and their own good. I look forward to talking with you later today. We will discuss your life here, as well as how to properly introduce you three to the other students.

"In my opinion, sir, I think you should take Shadow Queen up on her offer."

Y/N scoffed. "And by offer you mean order." He crumpled the letter.

Y/N took a deep breath and opened the door.

And saw a bald man talking with Jade and Sophia.
