Y/N groaned. He had just got up, and the announcements were blaring through the room. "Y/N L/N, please report to the headmistress's office immediately."

"Again? Jesus Christ."

He quickly dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans, and headed down to the office. Hadern was waiting for him, along with Joshua, Iris, Emma, and another girl.

"Y/N, glad you could make it." Hadern smiled, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "We were just discussing a recent incident."

Y/N sighed. "Which is?"

"Last night, Tempest tried to break into the school."

Y/N blinked. "And what does that have to do with me?"

Hadern didn't answer, instead turning to Emma. "Care to explain?"

Emma cleared her throat. "Well, she's after you. We figured that the best way to stop her was to...give her what she wants."

"I don't like where this is going."

"You're right. You shouldn't." Emma gestured to the other girl, who was standing quietly in the corner. "Meet Mina. She's from a minor circle: the Furies."

Mina was a short girl, with black hair that fell past her shoulders. Her eyes were a bright green, and her skin was pale.

"She's your decoy."

Y/N took one look at her, and said, "Yeah, that's not gonna work."

"Why not?" Mina bristled.

Y/N grumbled and turned to Hadern. "Did you even tell them that Tempest is head-over-heels obsessed with me? She'd immediately recognize that it's not the real me. Besides, how are we supposed to make it convincing that I'm going somewhere?"

"You are." Hadern didn't sound pleased. "The USHT is sending the group of freshmen you met a few nights ago. To the city."

Y/N stared at her. "I'm sorry, the USHT is sending a bunch of children to, for all intents and purposes, an active battlefield?"

"Hey, we're all of age!" Iris said.

"Still doesn't change the fact that none of you have been in a battle with a villain before."

"That's where you're wrong. Joshua here has had a few run-ins with the villains. Isn't that right, Joshua?" Hadern raised an eyebrow at the boy.

"Yeah, a few. But still not enough experience."

"Regardless, this is happening.

Y/N, you will go on this mission. If Tempest does appear, I'll have Emma and her team on standby."

"But what about-"

"No excuses. This is the plan, and you're going to stick with it. Understood?"

"Yes, ma'am."
