"It's an honor to meet you, Sir Demetrius," Louis Todd said while bowing to the eldest son of the Desmonds.
"No need for formalities, I'm the one who needs the favor after all," Demetrius replied.
The two males continued walking inside the Company, Louis leading Demetrius towards the private laboratory solely for his use. After a brief talk with his father, Demetrius was sent to the Pharmaceutical Company to meet with the head chemist. Since it was only a Tuesday, he was excused from school for a reason that his Father made. No one would dare question his sudden absence if it was from Donovan Desmond himself.
"So, this lab of yours is completely hidden? Why?" Demetrius asked curiously.
"Because I was a Scholar under your father's name, I don't necessarily work for the Gloomans but for him. My work is completely different from the other chemists here, but he asked me to be here because he needed someone to supervise the place, someone he knows truly. And here we are!" the chemists declared.
They stopped in front of a metal door. On the right side of this door were three screens, one with numbers, the other with a hand image, and lastly an ID scanner. After doing all the necessary codes to enter, Demetrius got to see the exclusive laboratory of the male with him.
"Can I see the drug?"
"Here," he reached his hand to give the container to Louis.
Louis stilled, something Demetrius noticed immediately. "Is there a problem?"
"Where did you get this?" The chemist gave him a crazed expression. "I can't believe this, all this time... they're alive?" he whispered to himself.
"Who?" Demetrius asked.
"You should head back and let me do my job. This analysis won't take long, I'll personally give it to you on Thursday."
Weird. Having no other reason to stay, Demetrius followed the chemist's instructions and left the building. Since he was already excused for the rest of the day, he decided to take a break from all his duties and do a little walk in the city. After the driver left him in the park, he started walking the usual path he always took whenever he had the time for himself.
His thoughts wandered to (Y/N).
Her appearance suddenly became a major factor in his life. Sure, the girl was already existing before and doing well on her own. Just like him. But now, he can't help but wonder...
Who are you, (Y/N)?
"How am I supposed to know that?"
It was lunchtime and (Y/N) and her friends sat at their usual table and continued to talk about the upcoming exams before the break. Their topics were random at most until they arrived at Demetrius as their topic.
"Duh! We saw you yesterday having a private conversation with him. Then you went back to your usual banter in class!" Cleo pointed out.
"Yeah, you both became closer... Are we missing out on something?" Lynn asked. "You don't have to tell us if it's a personal matter! I'm just worried. The Desmonds are not someone you should be involved with."
"True the fire!" Cleo agreed.
Luthor only looked at (Y/N) who only widened her eyes at him. "Even you? Guys! You don't have to worry about me. You know we're rivals and such, I'm just making sure that the 'enemy' is closer."
"We know that, but how about the external factors?"
(Y/N) looked at Cleo with question marks on her eyes. "You seriously have no idea?"
