15: Clashing Minds

It has been days since (Y/N) found out about her weird 'talent' which is reading minds. So far, the progress she had was that she could freely talk with Anya, telepathically. And that was only when the little girl was the one who initiated it. Her main goal is to read the minds of anyone she wants to read. But, reading the test result Demetrius gave her explained why that was impossible for her, well, for now. 

The drug was messing with her brain chemistry and it could alter her memories or erase them. This then concludes why she can't remember things clearly from her childhood. Her mind then went to her siblings, do they also experience the same things? Now that she thinks about it, was the probability of having all of your children being geniuses that high? She doesn't want to sound like she's judging her parents but as far as she knew, they have average IQs. 

Does this mean she and her siblings are the same 'kind' as Lucas? 

Could this drug be the reason why she can't grasp voluntarily reading people's minds?

Was her ability to copy people's skills easily part of this 'talent'? 

"Holy shit, I gave Sir Loid a bottle of this!" her eyes widened. "Does he know? Wait, shit, this drug doesn't even look like it's on the market!" 

I have to do something!

"Do something about what, nee-chan?" Anya asked, leaving her textbooks on the table and standing next to her. 

"Nothing!" the teen answered. She then stirred the stew she was cooking then bent down to pat the little girl on the head. "Have you finished your homework, Anya-chan?"

"Yes! Anya has great news, too!"

"Really?! What is it?"

"Anya will tell you with Ma and Pa later!" 

(Y/N) raised her brows in suspicion. "Does it have something to do with the kid you were with earlier?"

"Sy-on boy? Yes!" 

"Sy-on boy? You call other kids the same nickname as Damian?"

Anya shook her head in disagreement. "No! But Anya realized Damian didn't like calling him that. So, Anya calls Lysander Sy-on boy 'cause he's also the second son! And he likes being called that!" 

Oh, I just know Damian is fuming right now. (Y/N) chuckled at the thought. "Since you're already done with your assignments, why don't you help (Y/N)nee-chan to set the table?"

"Okay!"

Her mind then wandered to someone who started this mess in her life. Where are you, Lucas? 

"She stopped taking the vitamins?" Lucas asked Twilight. 

The meeting between the two became a regular one after the vitamin revelation. Currently, the (L/N)s are in the custody of the spies but the couple were silent the whole time they were being interrogated. Even after Lucas appeared in front of them, they only looked at him. 

Their silence was making them scared and concerned. 

"Yes. I think she's trying to make an illusion that she's doing all her regular routines but I know she's been skipping that part."

"And the (L/N)s know this, right?" 

Twilight nodded.

It was frustrating him. Why were they so silent with everything that had been happening? 

He was assigned this mission expecting a war. He never thought that it would involve crazy scientists experimenting on children, even on their own, and then leaving all they did behind to start an 'ordinary' life.
