Chapter 1

(Second person's Pov)

Lessy moved to Sarayakishi city, Japan, with her father to start a new life in the military. Her father was once a renowned vampire hunter in New York City before he met her mother and started a family. However, that family life was cut too short.

Seven years back, Lessy's mother was attacked by a pure blooded vampire while her time of giving birth was 3 weeks overdue. Lessy would've died if it had not been for the virus from the vampire that has altered her DNA. It had made her have all the vampires' strength, speed, agility, recovery, and her discovery of the alchemy. The only weakness at the time is her autism diagnosis at the age of 3.

Her speech teacher is a Japanese woman named Asoku Hintaganchi taught her to speak to through the vibration of the hand and mouth. That is how Lessy met Asoku's daughter, Remina "Mina" and they became best friends ever since. They even trained together to defend themselves and each other. Lessy and Mina had no idea about the dangers they're going to be in for the next few years. In Mina's case, her mother, Asoku, was an angel priestess and her father, Elberto, was a vampire aristocrat. Their secret union was forbidden by both parties involved. That union had led to Asoku's demise.

One night, Lessy and Mina met their first acquaintance with death at the age of six. The vampire cults broke in the Hintaganchi residents and started to slaughter almost anybody who got in their way. Their cult leader named Miranda came into the building and saw Asoku defending the girls from the vampires with her spirit weapons. Miranda knew about Elberto's betrayal, and he ran off with an angel priestess who gave birth to a Nephilum, a hybrid of the vampire and angel race. She believes that in order to stay in power, Miranda would have to eliminate the threat. (Little did Miranda know that there was another one that was born 5 years earlier).

Asoku and Miranda battle it out with everything they had against one another. Asoku knew that she was no match for Miranda and decided to make one final act to make these intruders retreat. She used her large amount of her spirit energy with the combination of the UV light and performed her signature beam to disburse them all, but not before her heart has been ripped off of her chest by Miranda.

Asoku gave her life so that Lessy and Mina are safe. Lessy's father and Elberto had found them an hour later, and Asoku gave Lessy's father the safe location to start a new life. Asoku's dying words are: "Take Lessy and Mina somewhere safe."

Lessy and Mina knew that they had to separate from each other very soon, but they knew that they would meet again eventually. Mina would go with her father to Puerto Rico to discover her other culture and continue her training to avenge her mother.

Lessy's parents are not on the best terms and got separated, and that's how Lessy and her father ended up deployed to Sarayakishi city. Meeting new people in elementary school was quite difficult for Lessy giving that not only because of her autism diagnosis but also her skin color. Her father always told her to treat people like how they wanted to be treated, and she lived by it. Without Mina, Lessy would rather be alone anyway.

One day at recess, Lessy was playing on the swing, minding her business when she spotted a group of kids targeting a kid who had red hair. She noticed right away that boy is different, just like her, and had to step in to help him. One thing that Lessy and her father had in common: They don't like bullies.

Lessy pushed the other kids away from red-haired boy and said, "Leave him alone before I'll do it for you." The last time some group of kids picked on Lessy after school, they ended up with a few licks and a black eye. The kids knew better than to take on Lessy and ran off.

Lessy looked at the boy behind her and said, "Hey, are you okay?"

"Yes, but you don't have to stick up for me", The red-haired boy replied, getting up.

"No,but I want to," Lessy smiled, "besides, it's nice to help the person who is different like me."

The red-haired boy smiled back at Lessy, "I suppose you're right. Thank you for sticking up for me."

"Not a problem," Lessy said as she turned to go back to the swing.

"Hey, wait a minute," the red-haired boy called out to Lessy. Lessy turned around to look at him.

The red-haired boy walked up to her and asked, "Do you want to play with me?"

Lessy simply smiled and nodded her head. She held her hand out to him, "My name is Lessy, by the way. What's your name?"

The boy looked at her hand and back up to her face. He had a good feeling that he should truly trust her with anything. But for now, He should start things slow.

"My name is Shuichi."
