In March Theo caught a cold.

A cold which spiked a temperature of 103. He was shivering, sneezing and vomiting at the same time which had a scared Winnie calling 911 for an ambulance and then Reed at work.  Reed had beat the ambulance to Georgetown Hospital , calling Walter Edison on his cell along the way. Walter had admitted Theo to the hospital immediately and put him in complete isolation with no visitors outside of medical staff. Including Reed. It had been the longest two weeks in both their lives. Reed took a leave of absence from work with his supervisor's approval.  He never left the ICU waiting room. He texted daily updates to Theo's family and Charles in Greece. Winnie brought Reed fresh clothes every day. Winnie was sad and scared but he still had Dennis by his side. Saint brought Reed coffee and comfort on his ER breaks. Matt showed up each day with fresh made biscuits and homemade jelly which was delicious but Reed had no real appetite. Ryan texted support from Texas although he also texted that there was a prison escape. Todd Deets was one of the escaped inmates. He didn't think Deets was headed their way but Ryan advised Reed to be careful. According to the warden, Deets still bore a grudge against Reed and Theo. Just in case Ryan also had alerted the cops in D.C. about Todd's escape. They were hoping to have all the escapees rounded up soon. That was not a good thing for Reed to learn but his first concern was still Theo's health. A cold was not good. The chemotherapy had weakened Theo's immune system greatly. Reed visited the hospital chapel to pray regularly. Theo's fever did break and he was eventually released from first isolation then back home to rest more.  When Reed took Theo back home Theo had smiled at the sight of their apartment.

" I missed this," Theo said. " I missed you too, Reed. "

" I missed you too, darling. "
