Chapter 4★

Mafuyu pov. (Finally)

I'm starting to look forward to meeting Kanade every day, he seems like a very nice person to be with.

I wonder how good his fighting skills are...

We will see once we are on the training grounds

I slowly open the door to make way for the both of us to enter the room

"After you," I said

He tensed up for a second before going through the door

"Thank you"

"No problem"

I started to put on my sparring gear and grabbed my fencing sword.

I made my way to one side of the arena and started to wait for him.

He seems like a very gentle person with a big heart.

He made his way to the opposite side of me and that's when his teacher came into view.

"Alright, I assume both of you already know the rules so I will get straight to the point, first to 3 wins, ready, steady, GO!"

The moment she said go I immediately darted my sword towards his side.

This tactic is a pretty good one, the only problem I see with it is that in a real battle, they won't wait for a referee to say break and let everyone reposition themselves.

To my surprise, he shot his sword near his sides to block mine and that's where the fun began.

We started to move around the arena while our swords clashed with one another.

It was nice to finally have somewhat of a challenge, but since I have done this longer than Kanade I have the higher advantage here.

I lured him to try and hit me by revealing my left side towards him.

As expected he dove for it and in return, I ran out of the way to get him off balance.

Then in only a few seconds, he had tripped and all I had to do was tap him with my sword.

"I win."

"Thank you Mafuyu for wanting to battle with me, this has been one of the most exciting fights I've ever had."

He bowed down and so did I

"Alright boys, time for a water break, you two were fighting for around 7 minutes."

He walked over to the stone bench and sat on it while catching his breath and cooling down.

Maybe he would like some water?

I went over to the small wooden table and poured a pitcher of water into two cups.

I then began my way over to him.

"Here, I brought you some water."

I placed the cup beside him and sat down on the bench next to him.

"Oh, I usually drink tea instead of water because it helps calm me down but I think water would work just fine."

Tea? That's interesting. Maybe I should try some later.

"Wanna go for another round?"

He looked up at me and nodded

"Sure."

Time skip

Today's practice was good for once. This time I had a challenge, I'd never seen such a good sword fighter this good in only three years.
