Prom(ises)
It's now been 48 hours since my heart, my imprint, my reason for being, was kidnapped by the Volturi, and the only place I can find any peace is with Onyx in his nursery, telling him stories and showing him videos of Renesmee.. Leah and Sam are both doing better and have returned to La Push.. "Jacob can you tell me about the time aunt Alice threw you and Reney a prom?" I smile,"sure, if you want.. You're cousin, was too smart for regular human school, so Edward, Bella, and,Grandpa Carlisle started homeschooling her, but the girls, didn't want Reney to miss out on having a prom.. she wore a beautiful light teal dress, and Alice helped me pick a nice suit that matched her dress.." * pictures above* "the decorations were an under the sea/ the little mermaid themed, because that's one of Renesmee's favorite movies.. she also really loves boy bands and love songs, we danced for hours, I was just so happy to hold her.." just playing Onyx gives me a tight hug, " you really love Reney a lot huh? You must miss her as much as I do.. " I squeeze him back. "Tell me more," I hear his little voice say..
"We danced, ate this amazing Mexican food your aunt Bella had catered for us. Alice hired a photographer, so we could get professional pictures taken in all the cheesy prom poses. It was like I had my own personal princess Renesmee was so gorgeous that night.." I show him a picture. "We had just started dating not long before that, you know she's my imprint, so I was always what she needed most, whether that be a big brother, a best friend, or boyfriend..." Three and a half year old Onyx stares at me with wrapt attention.. "Jakey?" Onyx asks me, holding my gaze, "do you think someone will imprint with me someday?" "I don't know," I answer him honestly. His face falls, "but anything is possible, you could have a mate, like your mom and dad, their mates. You could have an imprint like Renesmee is for me, or you could meet a human, and fall in love with them. You could have many loves, or you could have one love that lasts a lifetime, you could love a man, a woman, a non-binary person, you could love more than one person at the same time.. We really won't know until it happens, but whoever you love, as long as it's consensual, (meaning every person involved loves the other back, then it's perfectly okay." ) I quickly explain, knowing his intelligence far outweighs his body size at the moment. Treating him with kid gloves has only ever made him upset.. "do you have any other questions for me Nyxy?" "Do you still have the playlist from the prom?" "Yeah, of course.." I answer causing him to smile, "can we please listen to it?"
