life wasn't hard for Minji. it was in fact quite easy. she has a job, a house, maids to help (much to her disliking), a loving wife, a beautiful daughter and 3 dogs. what more could she want? well, the only thing she wanted was to have her wife by her side more often. she didn't voice this want of hers because she didn't want to sound selfish.Hanni, her wife, worked long hours so when their daughter was at school, Minji would be home alone, as she works from home. Minji would sometimes tell her daughters school that she would pick her school work up so she could do them at home. this way, Minji wouldn't be completely on her own.
Minji had never told anyone this, but she misses her old life. as much as she loves how everything is right now, she misses being back in Japan where no one knew who she was. she wished she could have the best of both worlds, but she knew it would never happen...
Minji snapped out of her daze when she heard the door bell ring. she placed her paperwork on her desk and ran to the door. she was surprised when she opened it to see her daughter standing there with one of Hanni's maids standing behind her.
"Milly baby, why are you home early?"
Minji said, crouching down holding her arms out for her daughter. Milly wasted no time for seeking home in her mother's arms.
"the school rang and said could someone pick Milly up as she wasn't feeling well." Maria spoke from the door.
"oh, i didn't hear the phone ring? Minji said standing up, picking Milly up in the process.
"ah, yes. i took the call as you were taking the conference call mrs. i didn't want to disturb you." Maria replied, hanging Milly's bag and coat on the hanger by the door.
Minji nodded her head and looked to her daughter on her shoulder, who was now asleep. she mouthed a thankyou to Maria and bowed. Minji then proceeded to take her daughter to her bedroom to let her rest. she woke Milly up so that she could get changed and take her medicine before Minji let her go back to sleep again.
Minji closed the bedroom door quietly and made her way back to her office. once she made it, she slumped down in her office chair and sighed deeply. she was debating on wether to call Hanni and tell her that Milly was sick. part of Minji's brain was telling her she should because after all, it IS we daughter too. but the other part was telling her that Hanni was a worrier. she becomes so invested in the things she's worried about that she forgets her cool. but that part also meant that Hanni would drop everything and come home until Milly was better. Hanni was simply stuck in a predicament.
she closed her eyes for not even a second and her phone began to ring. she groaned and looked at her phone screen. a warm smile spread across her lips and she answered the call, immediately putting it on speaker.
"Love! where's my Milly?" why did you not tell me she was sick? how could you not tell me. i was the one that carried our child for 9 months, and you couldn't even send me a short "Milly is sick, message. god i hope she's okay!' Hanni rambled.
"Love!, calm down okay?' Minji said, silently laughing at her wife's words.
"calm down? you expect me to calm down knowing my daughter is sick?!' Hanni snapped back.
"yes. i do expect you to calm down Hanni. she got home not even fifteen minutes ago and you already know. like how does that even work?' Minji started then trailed off.
"Minji?! really? the school called me because YOU didn't pick up the phone. i explained that i was away on business and you were at home. i then had a phone call from Maria saying that she would get Milly because you had a conference call" Hanni explained, sounding calmer.
