Ringing had all five of the ninja waking up in differing states - ranging from alarmed to irritated.

Cole rolled over, dragging his pillow over his head to cuss in muffled Italian, Jay, in the bunk below, buried his face into his own pillow with a whine. Zane shot up, smacking his head on Kai's bunk in his alarm, as Kai yelped, startled by the gong and sudden thump from beneath him. [M/n] nearly growled, ears ringing from the loud sound in the enclosed space, slowly sitting up and popping his spine.

The room was hotter than he was used to, so he was glad that he had changed, sleeping in a cotton tank and boxers. If he'd slept in his sweatpants, he would've melted, woken in a puddle of sweat. It was disgusting.

"Evil doesn't sleep and neither should you!" Wu was far too awake. "In order for the five of you to reach your Full Potential, we must greet every day as a new opportunity."

"Yeah, that's great'n'all, but shouldn't we get a full night of rest? Just a thought," Kai grumbled, sitting up. When Wu raised the mallet, threateningly, he nearly yelled, "We're awake! We're up!"

"That was a rest? I think my back has more lumps than the bed," Cole said, groaning.

"We were up so late, talking about how cool it is to have a new headquarters, I guess we lost track of time. I mean, it's pretty cool! We're living on a ship! We're practically pirates! But, hmm, I'm glad we finally have a roof over our heads," Jay said, climbing out of his bed. As he talked, he prepared his toothbrush not even noticing the sand that poured from the faucet. Squeezing out a dollop of toothpaste, he stuck it in his mouth, gagging at the sand now coating his mouth.

"Without [M/n]'s interference we likely would have stayed up even longer," Zane admitted freely, swinging his legs over the side of his bed. "What is our lesson today, Sensei? Mastering the Strike of the Scorpion? Or perhaps the Grace of-"

The boards collapsed beneath him.

"Chores," [M/n] answered, carefully climbing down from his own bed. "Today's lesson will be chores, right Sensei?"

"Correct."

"What, no way!"

"Why chores?!"

"Ninja fight, Sensei! They don't clean!"

"In order to respect ourselves, we must respect our new home and where we are from. And this place is a long way from becoming a Ninja headquarters. Nya and I are heading to the Villages to look for better furniture, and I expect this place to be spotless when we return. And put your backs into it," Wu stated, turning to leave them all to their new chores. "[M/n] is in charge."

"Oh, come on!"

"Seriously?!"

Kai groaned, "This place is gonna take forever to clean up!"

"Unless we put more than our backs into it, eh?" Jay wiggled his brows, grinning mischievously.

[M/n] sighed, "As long as you do not destroy anything that is not already falling apart."

"Why do Sensei leave you in charge?" Cole asked, confused.

"Does."

"You would have to ask him. But likely because he can trust I won't destroy anything."

Splitting up, they set to work.

[M/n]'s Element, Nether, wasn't exactly useful for cleaning so he set out to work on things the old fashioned way, dusting before Zane and Kai made their way into the room to soak the floorboards that they would then add dish soap too to scrub away at the dirty wood.
