Orange sunlight filtered in through the singular, circular window as the ninja dressed for early morning exercises.
[M/n] buckled the belts across his chest, adjusting the knife sheaths he had attached, eyes lazily flicking to Zane, who was still asleep. Oddly enough. Zane was the very definition of an early bird, often rising before everyone which made breakfast his job most often.
In fact, he, Zane, and Wu often drank tea on Sundays, enjoying the early morning in peace before the chaos that came with five young adult men and a teenage girl.
Shooting up, Zane smacked his head on the bottom of Kai’s bunk, dreads nearly catching. Wincing he tried to fix them, but sighed and left them be for the moment - he’d need to use the mirror to put them in place.
“Oh, sleeping in? You're gonna be late for training," Jay sang, delighting in not being the last ninja awake.
“How come no one awakened me?” Zane directed his question to [M/n].
“I would have if you were not up by the time I was done. You slept in, so I believed you needed it.”
“I see, thank you.” Zane hurried to dress, the others milling around the room so he wasn’t left behind. If one of them had to do morning exercise, they all did.
Said morning exercise had become mandatory now that they were on the Bounty, Wu realizing he had allowed the ninja to go wrong by not keeping tabs on them. By not ensuring they were keeping up with training. He had also begun planning other days that would be filled with different kinds of training - not that the other four seemed to realize.
From now on, on most mornings they were to make their way up to the deck and stretch under Wu’s observation.
So now, the five were on deck, standing behind Wu who would lead them through the stretches until they were confident enough to do so on their own. Zane was obviously caught in his own mind, bumping into Kai, several times.
“Wow, feeling a little slow today, huh? What exactly kept you asleep? You’re normally up pretty early,” Kai said.
“I saw the Falcon in my dreams last night.”
“Whoa, really? The Falcon? Both times you’ve seen the Falcon something big happened. I mean, first it led you to Lloyd’s treehouse, then the Bounty. So what did it lead you to in your dreams?”
“Time to begin. First, the Swooping Crane.” Wu demonstrated.
They mimicked him, but [M/n] was the only one who put in any effort, the others distracted by Zane.
Zane lowered his voice, “It led me to the Legendary Ninja. Or rather led them to me.”
“The Legendary Ninja?!"
[M/n] stiffened, forcing himself to stay in position, the others falling out in their excitement and shock.
Wu turned, attention caught by the bad shrieks, “That looks like the Shocked Monkey. Bad form, more focus.” Turning back around he repositioned himself.
“You can't just drop a bomb like that. Spill the beans," Jay hissed.
“Yeah, what else did you see?"
“They fought off Lord Garmadon when he attacked me.”
“That is what the prophecy said. That the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord, and the Silver Ninja would defend him in turn. But did you have a chance to see which of us was them?” Kai asked.
“Yeah, what didja’ see?”
“I could not tell,” Zane admitted, frowning slightly. “The Green Ninja seemed to share attributes of all four of us, and the Silver Ninja . . . They gave me no hints. If I did not know better I would believe they weren’t human.”
