With Khêlai's warning now hanging over their heads, the ninja had asked Dareth to borrow the Dojo area for some extra space to train - worried that, due to the exercise, Lloyd would accidentally toss any of them overboard. His dojo also had more room for them to do this kind of exercise.
The exercise in question? Lloyd was to face the four ninja. Blindfolded.
"Do not rely on your eyes. Use your ears," Cole lectured, circling Lloyd. The blond tried to track his voice, but the constant movement of all four made him lose track.
Dareth pushed through the hanging beads leading to the rest of the dojo, "Uh, guys. I forgot to mention I'm teaching a class later, so I'd appreciate a clean dojo."
Ignoring Dareth, the four lunged at the same time, trying to overwhelm Lloyd. Each was dodged before Lloyd grabbed onto them and managed to fling the four away. Jay was tossed back into Dareth's case of fake trophies, rattling the bookcase and making him freak out.
Jay leapt back into the fight, Dareth rushing to fix the trophies, "Ah! No, no, no! No, no, no! No! No, no, no!" Looking back, Dareth's eyes went wide when he saw the way Lloyd had grabbed Jay again, obviously preparing to throw him. Shoving open a window, the blue ninja was sent flying through it, landing on the sidewalk with a loud, startled yelp. With no mercy, Dareth shut the window on Jay.
"Hey!" Jay yelled, throwing his hands up.
Lloyd ignited his hands, green flames flickering softly as liquid-like drops fell to the mat below, luckily not lighting the synthetic material on fire. But it didn't die out as quickly as Dareth hoped it would.
"No, no, no, no!" Dareth shrieked, stomping out the already dying flames. Jay, in the background, angrily pounded on the window, face scrunched up.
"Hey, open the window! Let me in!"
None of the ninja went to let Jay in, too preoccupied with training Lloyd.
As all of this was happening, [M/n] was in the corner of the room working on the 8-minute drill for the Leopard Form. Repeatedly. His entire focus was on the bone-breaking kicks he was practicing, making sure his form was perfect, easily breaking the wooden post he was using.
Dareth's trophies were the first sign that something was wrong. They began to rattle, everyone stopping. No one was near the case, no one had touched it. The whole building then began to shake, the walls trembling with the force of the earthquake. Everyone dropped onto their knees, struggling to keep their balance.
When it finished, everyone turned to look at Cole and Lloyd, but both looked just as surprised.
"Wasn't me."
"I didn't do it."
A second earthquake followed, but it died down just as quickly. Once it ended, Dareth wheeled out an old TV, hooking it up so they could play the news, Misako and Wu coming down from the Bounty just in time to see the news report.
"NGTV reporter Gayle Gossip on the scene of what appears to be an earthquake rocking the city of Ninjago. But it's an earthquake like no other, as scientists have yet to pinpoint the cause. And more frightening, the aftershocks are getting stronger."
"What do you think this could be?" Cole asked, worried.
"Wouldn't be surprised if it was Garmadon? We haven't seen him for a while," Kai pointed out.
Jay shook his head, "But how could he do this? The Mega Weapon was destroyed."
Lloyd frowned, but Misako interrupted, "He would never. Lloyd's father is evil, but he would never do anything to put his son in harm's way."
