The sun was shining and the temprature was quite pleasant. Perfect spring weather. And so Mellany had decided to take her lunch outside today and enjoy her sandwiches in a nice sunny spot. She was alone. She hadn't made many friends yet and the person she did consider a friend was talking to a group of boys. She would like to ask if her friend would join her, but she didn't dare to step to him while his other friends were near. Maybe they would think it was stupid that a girl wants to hang out with him... Besides that, she simply didn't have the courage. Ow well, she didn't mind being alone that much. She was used to it. Plus it was nice and peaceful outside. With a small sigh she sat down on the bench, closing her eyes for a moment to let the sun warm her face.

The best time of the day had come upon them! Lunchtime! April was out of her class and at her locker grabbing her lunch faster than the teacher could say they were dismissed. Someone has not gotten the memo that the bell didn't dismiss you to the teacher's annoyance. April grabbed her lunch bag and headed outside to partake in the sun's warm rays. She liked this time to just get warm again after sitting for hours in classes blasting the air conditioner. Brrr. T'was the season of warmth! Leave the cold for winter! She grinned when she saw Mellany doing the same. A comrade in sun! "It feels nice today right!?" April asked happily. She sat down next to Mellany and tilted her head up to feel the sun on her face as well.

Mellany opened her eyes and turned her head quickly as she heared someone next to her. The cheerful skiploom had taken place next to her and was bathing in the sun. "I-It sure is.." Mellany replied with a wobbly smile. She was a little unsure what was going on. W-Why was this girl talking to her like they knew each other? Did Mellany miss something? Did they sit next to each other in some class? No, she would have remembered that! The cottonee just assumed this girl was very social and not afraid to talk to a stranger. That didn't make things less awkward for Mellany though.

"I was just thinking about how the classrooms are so cold." April kept going, oblivious to Mellany's awkwardness. "But I don't want to wear a jacket because then I might fall asleep and the teacher will get all cranky. 'April it's math time not naptime!'" She placed a fist on top of her hand as she imitated a teacher yelling at her. "I wish we had a nap time. But outside. Being inside all day can't be good for us. I mean we're still growing right?" April stopped looking at the sky and turned her head to Mellany. "Ah! I'm April. I always forget to say that. Hi!" She grinned wholeheartedly.

Even though this girls behavior was weirding Mellany out, she also had to admit is was quite entertaining. Her impression of a teacher was a little funny and her philosophy about being inside all day did make Mellany think. Guess she even agreed with her a little. The rattling then stopped. A small, quiet moment fell, before Mellany got startled by the sudden exclamation by April, dropping her lunchbox between her legs in the process. She looked at her and again with a wobbly smile she replied "Hi. I'm Mellany." This girl was really....something ^^;

"Ah Mellany! What a pretty name!!" April gushed. "Do people ever say it wrong like melody? You are my melody...." She stopped for a moment. "That's a song isn't it.... hmm..hmmm" She tried to hum some of the melody. "If our love's insanity...why aren't you my melody... I think that's how it goes..." She opened her container of fruit as she tried to think about what song had those lyrics. "Oh well. Maybe I'm completely off. Do you want some fruit Mellany? I have oranges, apple slices, and watermelon all mixed. It's real nice for sitting in the sun."
