Although Sunday was one of the precious days to sleep in, a certain Skiploom's alarm was buzzing as she lay curled up under the sheets. Grumbling, April turned onto her back and looked at the ceiling in a daze before the buzzes registered. She shot up and dismissed the alarm before getting ready for the day. Habitually, she put on a light plain black dress and her tights after a shower, then rushed out the door before anyone else woke up. Normally no one was home, but she thought she had heard someone come late last night by the way the walls thudded and drunk mumblings seemed to pass by her door. It didn't help that she had been watching a scary movie, so it just seemed like a monster passing by...

As April walked down the streets she had pratically memorized by now, she would say hi and wave to some of the older residents that were also out and about. A grandpa watering his plants in the front yard, another grandpa sitting outside in a rocking chair, a pet Gowlithe that barked at her as she passed by... April thought it looked like a scene from a movie. Sun shining and everyone living a peaceful life as the Sunday morning started. She stopped and looked back for a moment, thinking about how she never thought it'd be like this. A grin plastered on her face as she kept heading towards her destination.

"Let's see..." she thought aloud. "I have a couple things to report.. hmm...why not add one more." She leaned to a side to go down a path less traveled by. "Detour, detour~" she sang under her breath. "Gimme something more~ Let's see what's in store!"

The early morning sunlight shone all too brightly down on a sleepy young Roenne Currson as she wandered, hands in pockets, down the sidewalk towards the local park close to her house, stifling the occasional yawn. She wasn't sure why, of all days, she was up so early. She hadn't much of anywhere to be, not in the morning, but she had already showered and eaten breakfast. Staying at home could have been an option, but she felt strangely restless. So, she figured she might as well go enjoy some fresh air before retreating back to the safety of her house, away from people she had to physically engage in verbal conversations with. There weren't a lot of people she wanted to talk to at the moment. It takes so much energy...and she's still rather tired. At least the morning was a quiet one, as far as the Emolga could tell.

Roe shouldered a little baby blue backpack that held her sketch pad, some pencils and pens and erasers, her cellphone, and her wallet, and took her cap and turned it around so the brim faced backwards. Very stylish. Around her waist, she had tied a primarily blue flannel. Aside from that, she was dressed in a plain white t-shirt and jeans. Soon enough, the girl reached the neatly trimmed grass that marked the grounds of the park. There were a few people already out and about. Joggers, children, the like. There were many ways to get to this park, and while it wasn't the most popular, Roe preferred this place over other parks in the area. She liked to climb the trees and people watch. So, to one of her preferred trees she went, stopping before it to take in the view of the sunlight filtering through its leaves and branches.

It was interesting to April how houses thinned out to make way for a park! In all its glory, the public space allowed for people of all ages to enjoy it! For adults, you had a place to sit, run, walk, and even bring your kids to! For homeless, a shelter at night from whatever crept in the dark. Oh scary. And for kids!!! The jungle gym!!! A brief glance at the time on her phone made her hesitate. No one would mind if she had one round on the jungle gym right?? Just one go at the slide and - were those swings?

April looked from the jungle gym to the swing set. She closed one eye, stuck out her tongue and framed the scenery with her fingers. They looked close enough. Maybe she could have a 2 for 1 if she ran from the end of the slide- wait what was that? April made her finger frame smaller ,as if she was zooming in with a camera, around her favorite Emolga. Roro!

For once April tensed up. Normally she'd be super glad but today was a bit if a special case, and April didn't like others seeing her in all black cause then came assumptions. She had gotten the neighbors off her back with the funeral or church questions. She didn't mind them asking...once but after being asked multiple times it did get a smidge annoying. But she had practice smiling so it was hard for the old fold to recognize her annoyance. Roro was so much smarter tho! A genius even! What if Roro figured- oh shit did she look over here? Did Roro see her?

With the assumption she had been spotted, April started waving to Roro and shouted "HIIIIIIII RORO! GMORNIN!" There! She had saved her friend from any embarrassment that came from mistaking someone you thought you knew from afar and calling out to them. Now Roro could be certain it was April! She started to head towards her direction even though her body was urging to go down the slide at least once.
