before the flower girl closed the space between them, Roe considered backing out entirely and closing herself off again, but the notion was a fleeting one once her arms wrapped around the other girl. April squeezed her gently, a gesture which was returned at once, before snuggling her face right into her shoulder, nuzzling affectionately. She was...quite warm...as to probably be expected. Roe was totally not blushing at this, nope, nuh-uh, her face most certainly was not practically glowing with heat at all. This wasn't something the Emolga was used to. Her bushy tail fluffed out some at all this affection, quiet sparks of static electricity running through her fluff. Roe slid her arms into a more comfortable position and tried not to focus on how jittery she was feeling as April proceeded to rest her chin on her shoulder, still holding her close. This was a very long hug, for Roe. Very unusual. But not a bad thing...don't you dare read into it...it was just...yeah.
After a moment of just holding each other close, April spoke up and pulled back a little, just enough to see Roe's totally not still blushy face. Roe slackened her grip to let her free, but upon realziing she was still holding on, halted her slackening and looked at April with a relatively startled expression. What does she...what? Like to do? Like, hobbies? Well...
Wow, April's...her eyes are kind of this soft orangey color, aren't they? Roe never really noticed until now. Yeah, they sure do exist. But that wasn't important. Bad Roe. Get back on track and pay attention, you fool.
She blinked a couple of times and apparently regained herself, rounded ears perking to hone in on April's voice. April continued on to talk about doing something that Roe would want to do when next the both of them feel lonesome. Wh-what was that supposed to mean? April's expression shifted from a grin to a smirk, and she teased about being more selfish with Roe now. Dang, April really knows how to spike a cootie fever. Roe's lips barely parted, but her face just felt so hot any coherent sentence that might have begun to form fizzled out of existence. Her rounded ears twitched and her tail lashed a couple of times.
Apparently she looked frightened or tense--ah, dang it all--because the flower girl started to pout. She requested that Roe better not back off, run away, or...tell people? Roe blinked at that, the nervous energy within her fizzling some. Oh, right...April must be pretty nervous about opening up and all that mushy junk, too. Roe closed her mouth, then offered a small smile.
"P-pff...you do know who'y're talkin' to, right?" she said, sliding her arms just a little more snugly around April, "I'm a master'a not tellin' people stuff. An' you aren't that scary..." Wowie, what a quietly confident facade the squirrel girl is putting on here. The small smile soon faded, and she finally broke eye contact with April due to feeling self-conscious. "A-anyway, uh, I, uh..." She was supposed to be answering a question, right. Her voice lowered some in volume as she continued on, but it wasn't inaudible, especially at the still quite close distance between her and April's faces. "...movies're pretty nice s'mtimes...vid'ya games, board games...jus' people watchin's nice, too..."Lunaoverthecow
The little movements Roe made were interesting. April would have missed them if she wasn't so close, and even then she paid attention to some more than others. The way her tail lashed out interested her. She wanted to run her fingers through the tail's fur and try chasing it. Roe's ear movements got her attention for a while. The way her ears would flatten and round out was pretty cute! She wanted to touch them and see if they would flatten out at the touch, or if they were soft. Maybe Roe's ears would be softer than her hair or her skin- April's eyes and attention snapped back to looking at Roe's face as she spoke.
Who she was talking to? Roro of course! April giggled a bit, oblivious to how comfy Roe's arms were around her. Oblvious to the warmth of contact from Roe, and oblivious to how she leaned towards Roe to feel a little more of that warmth. Of course if anyone asked, she would say she likes the warmth in general instead of the warmth of another person's touch.
She tilted her head in confusion when Roe's smile disappeared. Was something wrong? April lifted one of her arms to brush her fingertip across Roe's lips, stopping at the ends to poke them up. "This suits you better." She spoke her thoughts aloud, before adjusting both arms to rest upon Roe's shoulders to be a little closer. Little did Roe know, that her arms resting on Roe's shoulders let April's hands come close enough to Roe's hair for her fingers to brush the back of it. Mwhaha! She was so clever! It was soft like she suspected!
"Movies!? Really?" April's eyes seemed to sparkle with interest. "Me too! I really like watching movies! Especially the action ones! They have some cool stunts and fights. Especially the kung fu ones when they use random objects to fight against the bad guy!" She started to ramble excitedly! She and Roe both liked movies! And games! And..people watching? "Whoa Roe, you sure like to do stuff with your eyes and hands hm?" She pointed out with a smile.
"Is people watchin fun? Do you meet a lot of interesting people? Or people..." April's smile turned into a smirk as she got into a teasing mood. "with cute accents like yours?" April stuck out her tongue playfully before she withdrew her arms, and took a step back, breaking their hug. "Sorry sorry I noticed it and really thought it was cute. I like hearing it." Her gaze softened as she fumbled with her thumbs again. "Are you um...embarassed about how you talk? Is that why you feel like an outsider sometimes? You don't have to respond if you don't want to" April waved her hands in a dismissal sort of sign.
