The math goes by fast and I feel suprised over how much work I get done. I've always tried to aim high in school and have usually been an A student. But lately my grades have started to drop, but I'm proud of everything I finished under this lesson since it's the first day.
"What do you have next?" Liam asks while taking his phone out to check his schedule.
"Uhm... religion" I say after I've dubble checked my phone.
"Nice, me too! What locker number do you have? It should be on one of the papers you got" He says and takes the papers from me. He checks through them before finally finding it.
"Okay... oh! You have number 43, next to my locker!" He says happily.
"That's nice" I say with a smile while we walk out of the classroom. We are one of the last one's out since I had to ask something real quick from our teacher, who is by the way called Mrs. Brown.
"There's our lockers!" Liam says while pointing at the lockers right outside the classroom.
We walk to number 43 and 44 and I take out my key. I unlock the locker which is, to be honest kinda small, but it should work. I put in my book I got from the math class and close the locker again. I don't own any more books to my classes yet so I'll just have to wait for Liam to get out his stuff for religion.
Some minutes pass and we are walking in the hallway. We're just chatting casually when I suddenly walk into something hard.
"I-I'm s-so s-sorry!" I quickly say not wanting to upset anyone. I carefully look up and a tall guy with curly, short, brown hair is standing in front of me. He looks furious and I immediately start to panic.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, nerd?!" He shouts at my face and I take a quick step back and instead accidently bump into Liam.
"Hey! Cut it out, Chris" Liam says and goes to stand in between me and this "Chris" guy. Chris is about the same height as Liam since Liam is also a bit taller than me.
"Who are you to tell me what to do, Payne?!"
He looks like he could hit Liam any second but suddenly a voice from the end of the hallway stops him."Ey, Chris! Let them be, they don't know any better. We have to get to class now!" A voice that is quite dark with a deep british accent says.
I carefully look past Chris to the end of the hallway and to my suprise I see Harry, Niall and Zayn (I think they're called), and two other guys I haven't seen before.
Chris sigh's loudly before run-walking to the others. I let out a breath I didn't realise I had held in. I look at Liam who is still staring to the direction of the group before turning against me.
"If you allow me to give you a piece of advice, try to stay away from them, they are just trouble" He says before we start walking again. I feel guilty of the fact that I nearly got Liam beaten up.
"I'm sorry..." I whisper. But Liam seems to hear it anyways and stops his movement. I stop too and he looks at me sadly.
"It's not your fault, everybody makes mistakes and besides you didn't see him walking there. Don't believe what they say, they're just self-absorbed jerks" He says while still looking at me.
