SE JIN

"𝙒hat do you mean what-" "You and I know both know what it is so drop your act," Han stirred the coffee. "I really don't know what you're saying," I sipped my tea. She raised an eyebrow at me but seeing how stupid I was, she gave a long sigh.

"So the news is basically Sapphire making another headline," she fiddled with her cup. "What could be it this time," I rubbed my forehead and looked at Han to see her staring at me.

"Don't tell me I've to go again-" "You don't have to, CEO has tasked me with it," I sat back relieved. "Then what's the problem?" "Nothing just. . . it's my first time settling a case like this.

Han was a lawyer fyi.

I gave her a you've got to be kidding me look.

"I almost lost my life after hearing your narrative!" "But you love me," she grinned. "I hate you." "I know it, now help me," she smirked. "Fine, let's go," we stood up and got out of the office cafe.

"Still, can you believe it? Me settling the case? Like- look here, I'm not a lawyer who goes on meddling with these measly cases-" "Says the one who was crying saying it's her first case," I scoffed.

"Aw, but you're the best thing that has ever happened so there's nothing to be worried about for me," she held onto my arm. "Why don't you just shut up," I sighed. She giggled like crazy.

"It's been officially closed," CEO clasped his hands and said. We were holding a short meeting to review on the settlement. "Thanks to me we got over this," Han boasted and accidentally glanced in my way. We just stared at her.

She slowly backed in her seat after seeing our angry stares, "I-well- I was just kidding y'know," she gave a windshield laugh which only made it more awkward.

CEO cleared his throat and continued, "What I meant is. . . from this moment I feel like the company should be careful enough to avoid any headlines. Because it's seriously ticking me off," he rubbed his forehead.

"Anyways, thanks to every one who worked behind this. This meeting is dismissed," everyone stood up and bowed each other.

"Se Jin-ah," Han called me from behind, "How about I treat you to a dessert?" I grabbed her and walked to the office cafe, "Buy me whatever I say." "Yes ma'am," she laughed.

"Which means the derivative of sin x, that is cos x will be multiplied over here," I turned from the board and closed the book, "Class is dismissed." Students scurried off and I walked towards staff room.

As I got out and was walking towards the parking lot I was blocked by her. "Not now Soran," I said coldly. "Aw come on Professor, it's not like anybody is here to watch us," her smile was literally uncomfortable.

"It's just the two of us anyway and all the teachers have gone," she tried to grab my collar but I smacked her hand away immediately. "You're really crossing the line," pushing her against the nearby wall I caged her. She felt really small and I could feel the dominance shifting. "Whatever you try, you won't be able to win me because I'm already taken by someone," I flexed my wedding ring at her, "and the whole university knows it too. You're only wasting your life kiddo." She dropped down to the floor probably shocked by how scary I was. I left her and went in my car driving off because I knew if I spent anymore time there, I'd definitely lose my mind.

As soon as I got home, I went to the room and jumped in the shower. I wanted to wash away all those misery. Not so long I came out and went down to the kitchen to see Se Jin cooking.

I hugged her from the back and kissed her neck as if I didn't want to let her go, "Hello Mark," she smiled, "just wait till I take the tray out." "Did you eat?" "Nope, Han gave me a treat so I wasn't hungry," she kept the batter aside.

"You've been baking cupcakes recently. Any reasons?" "Hm. . . maybe it's because of my craving? But this is so good y'know," she went back to waiting.

I sat down at the table. She sat next to me, "How was your day?" "As usual. Sometimes the stress gets on me, I hate it." "Eat and get some good sleep, everything will be fine," she ruffled my hair.

I love you.

"I'll be up," she stood up and went upstairs. As I finished eating, I checked my phone to see any important texts.

I decided to look it up later and went up. Se Jin had finished sorting papers and got into bed. I crawled towards her and hugged her close to me. She flung one of her legs over my torso and snuggled close to my chest.

We didn't talk anything.

Because we both knew how much our workaholic lives affect our mental health. And this was our way of recharging: we let the silence and our actions talk out.

And I loved her for it.

Because no one can understand as much as we do each other. I looked up my ring and it was dazzling, as if proving my belief.
