Add Love To Her World

Chapter 7

How far can insecurity dig down, very far considering eda was in a beautiful red dress. It complimented her figure, short sleeve, going off her shoulders, a slit in the dress on her right side, and matching heels that were also red.  She had her hair down, and the first hair Ortiment Raine gifted her.  Red eye shadow and mascara.

You'd think she'd be at her peek of confidence. Well no. She was staring at herself in the mirror, wondering why she looked so bad in dresses now.  A part of her never healed from her divorce, and it stuck with her. She leaned over her dresser and sighed. "Maybe age is getting to me.. " she muttered to herself, her head hanging low.   That's when she heard her door bell ring, and her heart started racing.   

She went to her front door, and took a deep breath.  "Your fine.. You got this" eda whispered to herself. Eda slowly opened the door to see Raine, in a teal button up shirt, dress pants, and books with a grey jacket. "Hi.. Raine" eda muttered, her cheeks already gaining color.  Raine got one look at her, and they were as red as her.  "Holy shit.." They blurted out in a soft voice. "Do I look okay?" Eda asked nervously, as Raine took her hand, pulling her close. "Your gorgeous..i know the dress would look perfect on you"  they replied.

Eda blushed, avoiding their gaze. "Thank you..rainestorm"  eda replied, smiling softly.    Raine chuckled, then asked. "what did you call me?"   Eda chuckled, brushing their hair back with her hand.  "You heard me, whispers" eda replied.

When they got to the party, eda was absolutely amazed by everything.   "Woah.. Are you friends with rich people or something?" Eda asked, making Raine a little nervous by the question.  "Uh.. You could say that"  Raine muttered. "Whispers! Hey you made it!" A man said. Raine smiled, seeing their friend Darius. "Hey darius, ah, darling, this is my friend darius" Raine said, as eda looked at him. "I've seen less fruit at a farmers market, but okay" eda muttered.  Darius looked at her, already annoyed. Raine held in their laughter, then said. "Darius.. Uh, she didn't mean it, but this is edalyn"  Raine said, in which she waved innocently.

Eda then looked around, and saw something shiney that caught her attention. She simply started walking towards it while Raine and Darius were talking. "Bro, where did you find her?" Darius asked.  Raine chuckled lightly. "You know that little side hustle I picked up?" Raine asked, with a mischievous smirk. Darius gasped, then laughed a little. "No! Dude.. You picked up a high school teacher? Damn" Darius responded, very impressed with Raines achievement.

Meanwhile, eda was looking at the huge chandelier on the ceiling, as the light bounced off it, making it shine and glimmer.  That's when I man saw her, a man with black hair and blue eyes.  He saw eda, then a Malisous smirk grew on his face.  He walked over to her then said. "Hey there, beautiful, how are you doing this fine evening?" He asked.  Eda wasn't paying attention still looking up, untill he finally tapped her on the shoulder.    Eda looked at him a little startled since she was so distracted. "Good evening, what are you doing here alone?" He asked.

Eda didn't exactly understand the situation, since she was a little tipsy. Before she got dressed she had a few glasses of vodka because she was no nervous, and thought if she loosened up a little bit, she'd be okay.     "Oh uh.. Well the ceiling is shiny.. So" eda muttered. The man looked at her confused, assuming she was joking. "Ah, well I can show you a lot of shiny things" he said, offering her his hand.   "Nope, she's good" Raine said, grabbing edas hand, putting her behind them. The man looked Raine up and down, glaring. "Raine.. Whispers, what do I owe the pleasure" he asked.  "Nothing, jack.  But stay away from her"  Raine said sternly. 

Jack smirked, looking at eda who was again distracted. "She was alone, and there's so ring on her, the way I see it she's free game"    Raine scowled. "They way you see it is stupid' they shot back.   "and don't talk about her like she's so prize"    Raine said, noticing eda again wandered off. "Eda!- damnit.. " they said, very concerned. "Looks like she can't wait to get away from you" jack teased.  Raine glared at him, then went to get eda.
