The Tales and Adventures of Daniel Newman and Celeste Hawthorn

Chapter 4: Misty, Cerulean City Gym, and the New Face

Daniel and his friends made it to Cerulean City to take on Misty and her trainers. They made the decision to go to the pokemon center first to make sure that their pokemon were okay from the battles in Mt. Moon. When they get their pokemon back, they decide to head to the gym. When Daniel and his friends arrived, they checked in and made sure that their pokemon were okay. "Well, it's time to take a step farther than I ever have," Daniel said with a determination.

    "What do you mean Daniel?" Arcan quizzed Daniel.

    "What I mean is, this is the farthest I have gotten in any of my journeys. The first time I went on my journey I was beaten up badly by some members of Team Rocket and I was sent to the hospital. Now, I am more determined than ever to become the Champion," Daniel said in response. Before they had a chance to go to the first trainer, they had run into a few new people.

There was a group of four people that came barging in. A silvered haired man, wearing a blue shirt, green sleeveless zip up vest, and in his late thirties early forties. A pink haired mid teens female. A mid teens, edgy male. A male in his mid teens, wearing a black and orange tracksuit, with blond hair and blue eyes. Ken was the first one to spot them."Hello there, I'm Naruto, we need some help here," the blond haired boy said loudly.

    "What can we help you with?" Ken asked Naruto.

    "Well there is a group of kids that stole some bikes from the bike shop and we need help finding them," The silver haired man replied.

    "What's your guy's name?" Arcan asked.

    "I'm Kakashi," The silver-haired man replied coolly.

    "I'm Sakura, pleasure to meet you," The pink headed woman said with a smile

    "Sasuke," The dark haired man replied with sarcasm.

    Daniel, Ken, Arcan, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi made their way out of the gym and went over to the bike shop. The bike shop owner was very happy for the help and told them where they could find the hooligans. As they left the bike shop, the group found the hooligans and they did not want to give up the bikes. "I guess they want a pokemon battle," Kakashi dead panned, channeling his inner Ken.

    "I guess so," Naruto proclaimed.

    As they were battling, Sasuke kept looking at Daniel and calling him a loser. Daniel was getting pissed and decided right then and there to prove to Sasuke that he wasn't a loser. As Kakashi, Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto were finishing up, Daniel, Ken, and Arcan were making a deal with the bike shop owner to buy the bikes from him. Daniel got Sasuke's attention by shouting "Hey, I wanna battle you. Both with Pokemon and hand to hand."

    "Hmph, well meet me back at the pokemon center and we'll fight," Sasuke rebutted.

    Daniel and his friends bought the bikes and headed back to the pokemon center. Sasuke was waiting for Daniel outside the center. "Let's get this over with so I can get back to my team," Sasuke said coolly.

    As they battled with their pokemon, Sasuke's one and only pokemon fainted in one attack. "Well, I guess it's time for hand to hand combat," Daniel said, recalling his pokemon and readying himself for combat.

    They started the hand to hand combat and Sasuke activated his sharingan. "So this is how you want to play this?" Sasuke coolly asked.

"Come at me. It's not like it's gonna hurt," Daniel said in response.

As Daniel prepared himself, Sasuke prepared his chidori. Sasuke runs up to Daniel and screams "Chidori!"

As lightning and dust settles, Daniel is standing there like nothing happened and then proceeds to punch Sasuke, holding back as much as he can to the point where he gives Sasuke a broken bloody nose. After that all happened, Sasuke prepared another chidori and finally landed a hit on Daniel and paralyzed him. Daniel, in response to that, punched him again knocking him to the ground. "I think we can stop there. I don't think you can take another hit," Daniel says as he moves his hand away from Sasuke.

As they finish up, Kakashi and Sakura appear in front of them and Kakashi asks "What happened?"

"Hey Sakura, you're a medic right?" Daniel asks.

"Yeah, do you guys need healing?" Sakura asks in response.

"Yes. I just need to be healed from being paralyzed and he needs his wounds to be healed," Daniel says to Sakura.

As Daniel and Sasuke are wheeled into the pokemon center, Sakura is straddling them with her hand glowing green from healing them. After that, the entire group went to the gym and decided to face the gym again.

As they made their way to the first trainer, one of the other trainers in the gym caught Daniel's eye. He noticed that she wasn't like the other trainer. She was different but something inside of Daniel made him want to get to know her. Was it love? Was it the fact that she was wearing a League hat? Who knows but all he knew is that she was really pretty.

After Arcan, Ken, and Daniel defeated the first trainer, they made their way to the second trainer that caught Daniel's eye. Arcan and Ken went before Daniel, they had a little trouble but they managed to beat her Vaporeon. Then it was Daniel's turn. "Well, I see that you were a League trainer as well. What's your name?" Daniel asked her.

    "My name is Celeste. What's yours?" Celeste answers back.

    "My name is Daniel, but you can call me Dan for short. That's what my friends call me," Daniel replies.

    "Nice to meet you Daniel. Shall we battle?" Celeste asks.

    After a long and somewhat fun battle, Daniel was finally able to beat Celeste. Daniel chose a pokemon that specifically wouldn't one shot her Vaporeon. She gave him a run for his money. "You put up one hell of a fight. Thank you for a good battle," Daniel said as he reached his hand for her to shake it.

"You didn't do too bad yourself. That was the most fun I had in awhile," Celeste says in response.

"What do you have planned after this?" Daniel asks Celeste.

    "Well, what I do everyday. Battle trainers, never eat, and never sleep," Celeste responded.

    As Daniel made his way to Misty, he had a proposition for her. "If I beat you, you have to let Celeste get the rest of the day off" Daniel said with a dangerous blaze in his eyes.

As Daniel gave the final command, Misty's last pokemon fainted. Misty was pissed off to the point where the group can see steam coming out of her ears as she handed Daniel the gym badge. Upon receiving his badge Daniel smugly says "It would do you better if you changed it up a bit. Two water/psychic types back to back is not good."

Celeste looks over at Daniel and blushes. Daniel walks over to Celeste, grabs her hand and walks out of the gym. They make their way to the pokemon center and heal their pokemon. Kakashi, Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura were not to be found anywhere. "Do you want to grab something to eat?" Daniel asks Celeste.

"Sure! Where do you want to go?" Celeste asks in return.

As Daniel and Celeste were discussing where to go eat, they wind up in the pokemon center. Daniel handed his Pokémon to Nurse Joy and pulled Ken to the side. "Hey Ken. I am taking Celeste out to eat and I have never been on a date. Do you have any advice?" Daniel asks nervously.

"Well she likes Pokémon right? Maybe start there?" Ken replies as he hands Daniel some money to pay for dinner.

    Daniel goes back to Celeste and says "There is a good pizza place around or BBQ,"

    Celeste answers back "I'm okay with BBQ. Let's go."

    As Daniel leaves with Celeste, he grabs Celeste's hand. As he does this, Celeste blushes a bright shade of crimson. "BBQ it is then," Daniel gleefully responded.

    They make their way to the BBQ place and when they get seated, the waiter takes their order and comes back with their drinks. "Thanks for getting me out of that horrible situation. I really appreciate it," Celeste said genuinely.

    Daniel responds "It's no problem. It's what I am here for."

    They get their food and eat but Daniel didn't want the day to end and neither did Celeste.
