Chapter 10: The Path to Erika and her Gym

They walk down the dock to Vermillion City as they leave the ship. The group decided to head toward Celadon City. As they were getting to the entrance of Saffron City, Ken blindfolded and muffed Arcan so he wouldn't have to see the big city. They get out of Saffron and make their way to Celadon. Ken takes the blindfold off of Arcan and doesn't take the muffs off him. "I think you will like it here Arcan," Celeste says to Arcan as he removes the muffs to take in his surroundings better.

"It's surrounded by trees! Of course, I am gonna love it here!" Arcan exclaimed as he walked down the main street of Celadon City.

"I gotta get something from the department store. Ken, can you watch Arcan while Dan and I run in?" Celeste asks over her shoulder.

"Yeah, I can take him over to the park," Ken says as he leads Arcan over to the park. 

Celeste and Daniel enter the department store. "What are you gonna get Celeste?" Daniel asks.

"You'll see in a minute," She says with a wink.

"What are you planning here?" Daniel asks.

"Do you remember what you asked me the other day?" Celeste asks in response

"Not really. Can you tell me what you mean," He said in return.

"When you propose to me," Celeste said with a smile.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That was a great night," Daniel says with a gleam in his eye.

"Yeah, that was a great night. That's why I bought the ring and I got a necklace for me and my sister. They are lockets and I am going to put a picture of her and me in it," Celeste says with a slight smile.

"I love you, Celeste," Daniel says while holding out his hand for Celeste to take.

"I love you too, Daniel," Celeste says with a smile as she takes Daniel's hand.

As they leave the department store, Ken and Arcan walk into the store and buy some stuff. "What do you think about going to the gym?" Daniel says as the other two walk out of the store.

"Yeah that sounds fun," Arcan says with a smile.

As they made their way to the gym, Daniel went off on his own. "Daniel, where are you going?" Celeste said with a raised eyebrow.

"I am looking for something over here and here it is," Daniel says as he finds three Super Potions.

He comes back around the corner and takes Celeste's outstretched hand. The group walks to the gym and is greeted by Erika "Welcome to my gym. Oh, Ms. Champion, it's nice of you to stop by."

"It's my pleasure. My friends and my boyfriend here wanted to challenge your gym. If that is okay with you of course," Celeste smiles as she hugs Erika.

"Of course! Come on in!" Erika says as she pulls away from Celeste's hug.

Daniel, liking his odds, goes first. "I think I'll go first," Daniel says with a smile and a light squeeze of Celeste's hand. 

As he approaches the first trainer, the trainer throws out their only Pokemon, Venusaur. Daniel looks at the trainer "Is that your only Pokemon?"

The trainer responds "Yeah, so what?"

"Alright, Faith it's your time to shine," Daniel says as he lets Faith out of his Pokeball.

As soon as Faith is let out of his ball, Faith knocks the Venusaur out with one hit. The other trainers look at Daniel and think they don't want to fight him. As soon as Daniel leaves the first trainer, the trainer says "Hey nice job on the battle."

"Oh, thanks," Daniel responds.

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble, do you want to train together?" The trainer asks in a flirty voice.

"What?" Daniel asks.

"WE ARE GONNA TALK LATER DAN!" Celeste shouts as she starts shaking with rage.

"Oh, you're flirting with me. I'm sorry, I'm already taken," He says as he looks over his shoulder at Celeste with a wink.

"Well, can't say I didn't try," The trainer responds. 

He walks up to the second trainer and the trainer cowers in fear, shaking her head and pointing towards Erika. "I guess that your trainers are scared of me. Do you want to battle Erika?" Daniel looks at her.

"Absolutely. Let's battle!" She responds

As the two battle, Celeste is still shaking with rage. The trainer must have really pissed her off. The battle continues with Daniel completely one-shotting Erika's first two Pokemon. As he gets to the last one, he looks over his shoulder and winks at Celeste. He gives his final command and he finishes off Erika's last Pokemon. "Thanks for a great battle. Here is your badge," Erika hands him the Rainbow Badge.

"Thanks for hosting!" Daniel smiles.

As he walks away from Erika, he heads straight to Celeste, who is still pissed. Celeste looks at him and with one swift motion, he kisses her. She stops breathing for a split second as Daniel pulls away. "What was that for?" She pants.

"That trainer tried to flirt with me and because I can," He smiles.

Ken goes next and goes up to the trainer. He gives his final command and the Venusaur faints. He then walks up to Erika and starts to battle her. As Ken is battling her, Arcan is hanging in a tree with his Pokemon. As Ken gives his final command, Erika's last Pokemon faints. Arcan hops down from the tree and makes his way to the first trainer. He battles the first trainer and faints her Venusaur. He then makes his way to Erika and starts battling her. As they are battling, Ken heads to the Pokemon Center. Arcan goes up to Erika "You ready to battle?"

"Yes sir," Erika looks at him and smiles.

As he gives his final command, Erika's last pokemon faints. "That was a great battle. Here is your badge," She hands him the Rainbow Badge.

"Can I stay here tonight? Your gym reminds me of home and I am feeling homesick," Arcan asks.

"Of course! A friend of Celeste is a friend of mine," She says with a smile.

"Thank you so much!" Arcan exclaimed and hops into another tree.

"Are you gonna be okay here by yourself Arcan?" Celeste asks as she remembers the last time he was left alone.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," Arcan says as he starts hanging from the tree.

"Okay. Well we are going to the Pokemon Center, if you need anyone of us just come over to the center," Celeste responded as she took Daniel's hand.

"Enjoy your mating!" Arcan shouted to the couple.

Celeste and Daniel turn a bright shade or crimson and walk out of the gym. "So why did you hand me the ring you got at the deparment store?" Daniel asks as he squeezes Celeste's hand lightly.

Celeste goes a bright shade of vermillion "So you can put it on my finger."

Daniel smiles as he takes the ring out of the box and places the ring on her left ring finger. Celeste smiles in return and they walk hand in hand to the Pokemon Center. "I think it's time to call it a night. Don't you think so too Celeste?" Daniel asks as he rubs his thumb on the back of Celeste's hand.

"Yeah I think so," Celeste yawns.

They head to their room and crawl into bed not knowing what the next day would hold for them. With not a care in the world slowing them down.
