* Chizuki's pov *

There was a silence that lingered, so I took my chance. Possibly my last one, I'll make it worthwhile, have to hope that he won't react harshly towards me, but who am I kidding, he would not do that. At least, I think so.

I start to cease the chance with a very calm demeanor or rather I just start to speak:  ''I like the real you, the bothered you, the flustered you, the cute you-''

''I'll stop you right there!'' His eyes are shut again, but he throws up a hand in the air, trying to silence the-?

What was he even trying to do?

Anyway, I continued my pursuit. ''Why? I have no issue in trying to show you that you are attractive without needing to put any thought behind your actions. I think it's adorable, but you must get used to the lark.''

''I object.''

''Well, you don't have a choice, do you?''

''Yes, I do!''

''Are you opening up to me? Oh, how sweet! You feel comfortable enough to voice your opinions!''

(And that's when I realized that she had also lied down to me. This time she wasn't trying to make any eye contact, which appalled me. I guess I grew accustomed to her and her eye contact.) (Cael's thoughts)

''Mon Cherie! I can't believe I have reached a breakthrough!''

''You have not achieved anything.''

''Oh, haven't I?''

''Well, then I'll ask. Have you?''

''I would say so, yes!''

''Alright, tell me all about it.''

He sat up and looked longingly in my eyes. Ok, that may be overboard, but...

''First of all, I've seen many different sides of you, and I'm guessing that your first plan was to show me what a gentleman you are, and then cast me away, not even bothering to pay me any attention. Isn't that so nice guy? And I'll tell you how I came to this conclusion.''

He interjected, ''But-, ok I'll let you express your opinions.''

''That is awfully sweet, thank you. I mean it!''

''And that just now felt weirdly aggressive, was it intended to be this way?''

''No, what made you even consider that? Just realized that we are straying away from the subject, which means that I will tell the reasoning behind the previous thought.''

''Go ahead.''

''By the way that you approached me, it was very obvious. People are formal at balls, but not to that extent.'

''To what extent? I invited you to a dance. I am not following.''

''Wait, shush my little dove.''

''Little dove?''

''What? Are you a big dove?''

''Perhaps''

''It just sounds insulting, but I will play along and entertain you.''

''Continue, please?''

I put my hand on his lap, and with the other hand reached out to grab his chin. Then made him look deep into my eyes, ''Do you want to hear how it all went haywire?''

He deflected, ''Now, let's not be crass, I don't think that I was so hopeless.''

''Aha! So you already know!''
